2 Questions
« on: 10 January 2009, 17:55:36 »

Hi All

Got a couple of questions which I know to some of you is going to sound like I'm a complete dickhead!!

1 runnuing the car in a straight line steering wheel slightly off centre and car pulls to the left would this just be a wheel alingment problem or could it be more serious.

2 How can you test the level and concentration of the antifreeze?

Any help greatly appreciated!!

Hi mate
couple of cheap tests first basic but check tyre wear and pressure if its like mine it eats front tyres [I drive like a plank  :-[ ] but always on the inside edge where you cant see it unless you look it normaly means front wishbones or tracking
second if it pulls in is the car straight it might have had a bang on the front end
I hope its the tyre pressures that can cause the problem but front wishbones are not that expensive
cheers

Complete your profile so we know roughly what car & area you live in.

Search OOF for WIM or Wheels In Motion, then get their number and talk to them, could be simple solution.  :y

OAT is "organic acid technology". Most modern cars use oats antifreeze which is coloured red or orange as it has a longer service interval. If your system coolant is neither of these colours make sure you do a thorough flush as oats is not compatible with "standard" antifreeze. :y

I'm about to drain the antifreeze myself due to removing exhaust manifold and drilling out studs...
Why do you need to flush the system before refilling new antifreeze..?

Yeah, I see.
How do you perform this flushing and what kind of fluid is most suitable?
