Is the latest advice still to use GM OE for these, or do they only do the cheaper sets now? If so, has anyone got a best alternative? I've read previous threads on this, but they may be out of date.

Ta, at least they still do them. Does anyone know who makes the GM discs and OE pads, I seem to remember something like Druid or Durid. $:-\$

Jurid. Make sure they are ones with shims on all 4 pads

Local stealer has a set in stock, at £118+Vat, Part # 93175166. He says he only has that one listed. Does anyone know if these are the Jurid OE discs, they didn't know, only that they were GM branded. $:-\$ $:-\$ $:-\$

I think AndyC does the trade club disk and pad set for under £100. It was last time I needed one, at any rate.

Disc and pad set will likely include trade club pads. Get them off andyc as already recommended. OE pads alone are about £85

Just got the set inc pads on TC for £104, but only GM markings, no Jurid.

Sounds like standard set, pads will be TC. To be honest for normal driving I think they are good enough

They say that its the only set they do, they're on the car now, and I'm sure with my driving they'll be fine, as you suggest.

They're good enough performance wise but in my case I got the most awful brake squeal

The discs come with TC pads. TC pads can take a hell of a beating, so don't worry about that side of things. I currently have TC pads on the MV6, and always have had.

I run OE pads on TBE. They do have minor advantages, namely, better bite/feel from cold, less dust, and I'm hoping at £80 a pop, longer life!! I get about 6k from TC pads, but I am quite hard of brakes.

TBH, not sure if he factory discs and the TC discs are not identical. The pads certainly are.

There i s no difference with TC Discs, Gm do not make two different types of Disc. To make the kits up they just use the cheaper pad, which was known as the "lease" pad before TC

Shack: I can only quote for the disc kit you already have and that part number is correct

Performed very well - except for a fair bit of dust. (Might've been down to Mrs Seth's driving style though!)

Quickly fitted EBC 'Green Stuff' pads in lieu of the 'Trade' pads. Very little dust and good performance!
