Hello all     first post here although I've been lurking since I bought an Omega estate a few weeks ago.

It's a 1994 M reg cd model which needed a few bits doing to it to get it as I wanted. The main thing was that it needed another tailgate so when I was at a local auctions and there was an Omega there the same colour with a good tailgate I bought it!

I've swapped most bits over that I wanted to and now I'm down to the steering wheel as mines starting to come apart at the stitching.

My question is can a steering wheel off the '97 car be put onto the '94 model as the airbags are specific to each steering wheel and will have to be swapped too -they use different bolt hole spacings. My main concern is that the airbags may use different ecu's to each other and/or when I get in there the connections are different.

Not sure about airbag, sorry.  97 car will use a SA6 SRS ECU I think...

Welcome to the site littlemike, sorry do not know the answer to your air bag problem. What about getting one from another 94 mod to fit yours?

Thanks for your help both of you      I think I'll remove them both and see if they swap over. If the plugs are the same then the airbags probably are (I hope!). Looking in the haynes manual the airbags use different ecu's, but the internal circuit of both airbags look the same.

If they won't swap then I'll leave it as it is. The 'spare' car is going to be sold soon, well that's if I can find a buyer for it
