So I am there deep in V, Y26SE V6. Looking for Torque Values. Is it so that Sandwich Plate to Heads is 20Nm and thus next part Intage Bridge to Sandwich Plate is 20Nm, too. How about those four bolts of plenum to Intake?

Just opening the package of Victor Reinz 15-34268-02 to install cam cover seals. Is it really so that there are two separate seals for one cover. I remember when I removed the old one four weeks ago that it was in one piece, there was some kind of 'Bridge' that joint these two seals together in both ends, so are these OK??

Omega General Help / Assembling Temperature of Black Sealant
« on: 07 March 2024, 16:32:36 »
Still working with my V6 Cam Covers, bought Loctite 5910, as I understood it is "as good as" the original GM 90485251. So it's cold, 5 degrees Celcius in my Garage. I can heat up the air but heads might stay cold a long time. Is there any minimum temperature for assembling with those sealats.

Omega General Help / GM Black Sealant 90485251
« on: 25 January 2024, 15:12:56 »
Starting to assemble cam covers for V6 soon, found my old Black Sealant 9048525. There is still enough for at least one cover but it is 10 years I last time used it. It is still liquid, so perhaps usable?? Is there any "Best Before" time after first time opened?

GM dealer told that new number for that product is 1679592380, any experience of that, price is 54 euro (80ml) here in Finland.

Is there any as good products to be used there e.g. Loctite e.g. 5922 or 5926?

Hello, I have two cam cover gasgets, one original and one Topran but no O-Rings. Does anyone know size of them to buy them separately, also size info of breather O-rings is welcome, is it nbr or Viton material you recommend?

So, started to change 2.6 V6 cam cover gasgets after breather glogged due to cold weather (read due to bad maintenance). While I was there decided to take away also sandwich plate to see better... front oil pipe joint is totally dry but the one in back is a bit wet (see figure). I tasted it, not sweet but like oil.

I believe that my oil cooler is ok as no signs of oil in coolant tank. I also remember that someone here mentioned that corroded oil coolers were problem in early models 2.5/3.0 but perhaps not in later later 2.6/3.2. My engine number is 08533230 if that helps categorizing.

No I ask tips how to proceed, just leave it as it is or something else. Could it be just a leaking washer (the lower one), could I try to tighten it or try to take it away&change to seal washers. I am a bit afraid of opening those joints, first cooler bridge and then oil cooler union bolts as they have been there from 2001.

Please help, experince needed now.

Omega General Help / Clogged Beather in V6 Y26SE
« on: 02 January 2024, 19:04:27 »
So, -22 degrees, cold start and then some smell and smoke. When back home I saw both sides of engine wet of oil dripping to exhaust etc.

I have cleaned breather some times but last time perhaps 5-10 years ago. When nowadays just driving short distances in the city the oil fill cap is full of mayonese so it is clear that when this goo freezes oil is leaking out. Three questions:

1. How to prevent the mayonese, is it a question of oil, I used Mobil 1 5W50
2. Are my cam cover seals gone now, I mean after cleaning of breather are those still leaking, is it worth testing or should I be prepared to change them srtaight away?
3. Is there a "set" or list of parts what needed when cleaning breather.

Omega General Help / Front Brake Kit Spare Part Number
« on: 18 August 2023, 17:19:39 »
I could buy front brake kit 1515005, 93175466 by 30 euro but not sure if it fits to my 2001 Y26SE

So many possibilities, ambulance police etc. Air cooled, yes, but seem to be various diameters etc., so expensive, don't want to take a risk...

So, this time codes 300, 302, 304, 306, rough sometimes, perhaps coilpack to be changed. When clearing codes yesterday found ECU voltage only 11.2V while battery around 14 as charging is ok. Ground connectors in frame below battery are green and white, very corroded. They might not cause this 2-4-6 problem.

Should ECU Voltage be same as Bat Voltage?
Where to order Coilpacks from and which trades are recommendable, Bosch, Beru...? Found from Autodoc several possibilities.

So, 2001 Omega 2.6 V6, when pressurizing cooling system very much cooling liquid is pouring from left where the large hose is going from radiator. This hose is tightened to metal "pipe" below left cylinder head or in head or somewhere there. I believe that the joint between this big hose and pipe is OK but the metal pipe connection between it and engine is leaking. Difficult to see there. What kind of metal part is there and can I remove the metal pipe somehow. Did not find any pics here, please help.

The original topic is below in bottom.

Then I changed Ballast in Nov 2022. Unfortunately still right side fires or not. In the morning it Fires but after a while when started again it usually does not. Left side 100% ok. Happens when Day Light Relay tries to fire or when I turn the switch. So perhaps something after this 12V is splitting into 2...

Below is what I learned from original topic reply #6 from TB:

"Just looked at the wiring diagrams, and its only one 12v feed from the daytime running "relay", splitting into 2 just before the fuses
F22 and F31."

What plugs should be checked if those fuses contrlos left and right side? Can this be a Fuse problem? Any relays? I do not have diagrams. And MOT next week. Please help.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Changing Ballast for the Right Side
« on: 14 November 2022, 13:49:22 »
Would like to change the ballast to that side Xenon where air filter locates. Yesterday was dark and I did not see the ballast. What is the right way to go down there. Should I remove the air filter ass. or remove the lamp to achieve the ballast. Just asking to avoid stupid work.
