Omega General Help / Where to find damper 90217221
« on: 12 November 2018, 16:23:23 »
So two pc of these parts are needed, between front upper spring seat and spring, really difficult to find. Found one from Cyprus. Is it the last one available in the world? Do anybody know a source for this. I would like to change them to both sides as I am now working there.

I am still working with my (front) struts. My spring compressors were too weak to work safely. They were OK for Opel Kadett (1986) but not for V6 Omega front springs. What is the force required. Have seen various models from 8kN to 20kN. Can anyone recommend e.g. from ebay a suitable and safe equipment for me. The strings seems to me really "Heavy Duty".

Omega General Help / Can I Reuse Wishbone Bolts (and nuts)
« on: 22 October 2018, 04:23:52 »
So question is already in header, new wishbones did not have bolts, old seem good, free of rust, like galvanized.

Furthermore how about the ball joint bolt and nut? New wishbone have ball joint but not bolt.

Omega General Help / Front Springs Length Difference
« on: 19 October 2018, 04:34:58 »
Hello

Just started to change wishbones, springs, shocks etc, not that easy as I thought but, However, after three evenings job left side is now disassembled. Against OOF rules I started from left side as it was easier for me. In the right side there is the wall of my garage so I have to turn the car when continuing to that side. Found that new springs have different length. How to ensure which one is which? I did not yet take the old spring away as I do not have strong enough tools for that, only small ones which I used when I had Opel Kadett. Perhaps heavy duty ones needed with Omega V6 springs, but question is which side has the longer spring.

Hello

Going to change front wheel bearings tonight. Is the thread of the central nut in both side normal right hand or do they differ from each other?

Omega General Help / Chip Tuning 2.6 V6 (Petrol)
« on: 02 August 2018, 06:47:25 »
Hello

Now and then I see products like this promising increased power, fuel economy etc. What is present opinion of those. Discussed here earlier but difficult to get understanding is it worth doing. I have autobox AR-25.

At least they are longer than needed but are there enough space inside both in front and rear axle discs? Just checked that I have air in spare tire but started to think that do I need shorter bolts if puncture...

Omega General Help / Front Tires Wear inside Area
« on: 20 July 2018, 10:54:16 »
Hello

Aligned four wheels about two years ago when new tires installed. Now I can see that inside area wears more than outside in front. Is this typical for V6 Omega or can this be a wishbone case which is not seen in alignment process?

Hello

Windscreen of my Elegance model is soon ready to be changed. It is labelled:
GM SPLINTEX
Laminated GF
DOT24 M1 11 AS1
Transp. 75% min
E6 43R - 008591
0  ...

So the dealer said it is normal glass without any special properties to prevent e.g. solar heat when shining. I remember someone told that these screens are comfortable when sun is shining so I would not like to get a cheap one instead...
