Airbag warning prevention
« on: 31 January 2010, 20:13:40 »

Cant wire in the new seats in my Mig just yet but would like to reconnect the battery in the meantime. So how do I do this without the airbag warning light coming on (which iirc requires tech 2 to turn off)?.
Is it as simple as bridging the 2 terminals on the wires which plug  into the pretensioners on the old seats?  :-/

In a word.... NO, it has to be a certain resistance between the two but I can't for the life of me find the value, I'm sure someone knows but I'll keep looking ;)

For some reason 150ohm comes to mind but im not sure why. Possibly from my Corsa days and reading on there forums. SO DONT TRY IT UNTIL SOMEONE CONFIRMS.

Oh dear. glad I didnt just stick an end of a paperclip down each side of the terminals. ::) :o ;D
Next problem will be how to use something which has the correct resistance. Me and electrickery have never been close friends. ::)
If I have to I will leave it until I hopefully manage to get the new seats wired properly. ;)
