I can beat the lot of you, took my test in 1958, in the centre of Birmingham on a Saturday morning.

Past first time in a car similar to this...and it's a Vauxhall :P

I should hope you did pass first time in 1958, what did you have to do, couldn't have been much?

Just watch it sunshine >:(

 ;)

;D I am actually being serious for once, what did you have to do?

Everything you have to do now, plus hand signals :P

Mrs TheBoy often uses hand signals whilst driving, usually to other drivers she thinks are driving incorrectly...  ::)

I took my test in my girlfreinds 1967 Triumph Herald. When the examinare asked me to turn the car around in a narrow road using forward and reverse gears I thought to myself what a waste of time with a 23 feet turning circle the car could do it in a u turn ::)

Unreal!!!

I took my test on 6 November 1979 in a 1967 triumph Herald 1200 saloon. I also did a U-turn, and then got taken into Boston's narrowest street where I did a 29 point turn!

This gets spookier Fin, :o I also passed in 1979 the Herald was a 1200 saloon, your wasn't cactus green was it?

I took my 1st leason in a 1100 mk2 Escort in 1976 that had been rolled on black ice a few days before by my instructor, really inspired confidence!!!

Past test in a Hillman Hunter 1500 in 1976, ah those were the days ;).
