Brackley Cam Belt Events catering
« on: 22 February 2007, 11:30:00 »

I thought I'd start this thread so that guests for both the 4 pot event at tunnies, and the V6 event and TB's get to see it.

as noted thus far in the original V6 cam  belt party thread, We're now at the stage of detail fixing....   like what we're going to eat and drink once the work is largely out of the way...

i think Tea , bikkies and bacon butties is the menu for the earlier part of the day, while we're all crawling about under cars and stuff....  but for the BBQ event afterwards...   this is how far we've got.

So, thus far

MaxV6 : A Fair bit of Meat, (Cumberland Sausages, Rib eye Steak, Pork loin, Lamb Chops , Chicken fillets)  and Some beer.
Kev Wood : Some bread like things , possibly in the shape of wraps/tortillas
Mambafia : Cake and some Biccies

Volunteers might like to consider the following, none should be considered as a show stopping essential

Actual burgers (most of the stuff so far is "proper" meat... if you want burgers, you better bring em... )
Buns
Cheese
Wimpy green stuff like Salad?
Spuds for baking?
ketchups and sauces
more beer
Wine
vegetarian stuff if any are attending (I'm not aware of such)
Additional Bacon for day time consumption

any other suggestions welcome.....

please refer to the V6 thread if you want more details on anything said so far...

Opps, posted a reply to this in the original thread! :-[

For clarity, here is what I worte:

Quote
It would be useful if those wishing to contribute , could perhaps all agree what we're bringing....  so we don;t find ourselves with 6000 buns and no burgers or ketchup.

I don't want to pressure anyone into donating more than they're able, or comfortable with....   but please be aware that we probably all owe TB and co several slap up meals....     and shouldn't really expect them to feed us all as well as fix our meegas ;)  so just check out how many people are confirmed as coming to the 2 locations, and gathering later , and kind of bear it in mind...

Kev Wood : Some bread like things , possibly in the shape of wraps/tortillas

a cake?

any other suggestions welcome.....

TB may decide to make this a separate thread ....   I couldn't decide one way or another..

Max

Fully agree with the above. :)  I will be happy to provide some burgers, biscuits and salad stuff along with some soft drink (as I don't drink beer and will be driving home again).  It looks as though there will be 16 people around at various times of the day, so I suggest cater for 20.

If a definitave list is to be produced, put me down for the burgers etc.  If I don't hear to the contary, then I will bring what I have listed ;)

With regards to the catering for these parties - are both the V6 and 4-Pot joining forces?  I'm going to be there and I was intending to bring a couple of cases of beer along, won't be staying sadly due to time restraints, but I was going to do this anyway to say thanks for the MASSIVE favour I'm being done! I'll grab a monster bottle of ketchup too, what about mayo (not the stuff from my oil filler :P)?

Also seeing as I'll not be drinking it, any preference on what I get?

I think the plan is to merge once all the main work is done, so I should imagine we merge around late afternoon..... and swamp TheBoy's cul-de-sac in Omega's!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Nice!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Seriously though, if both events are joing up later in the day for refreshments - how many are we catering for?

There are around 16 people at the V6 event, so I suggested cater for 20 for this.  How many are going to be at the 2.0 / 2.2 event?  Looking through the thread, I can't decide a definate number.

How many in total then - does 30 sound about right?

Indeed , the plan is, i believe to join forces once the majority of work is complete...

some provision of sustenance will be on hand throughout the day, but the major BBQ thing is for later.

from memory of published details of previous events, i think parking at Tb's is a bit tight... it might be wise to dispose of vehicles for those who are staying over first...  to hotels and the like, and organise ferrying people from hotel to TB's

Hopefully a common sense based consensus will emerge

So updated list

MaxV6 : A Fair bit of Meat, (Cumberland Sausages, Rib eye Steak, Pork loin, Lamb Chops , Chicken fillets)  and Some beer.
Kev Wood : Some bread like things , possibly in the shape of wraps/tortillas
Mambafia : Cake and some Biccies
x25xe : burgers & some salad
ClarCE : Some beer and Ketchup

Further suggested Donation Options
Buns
Cheese
Wimpy green stuff like Salad? or Coleslaw etc
Spuds for baking?
more beer
Wine
vegetarian stuff if any are attending (I'm not aware of such)
Additional Bacon for day time consumption , required at both venues.

From the contents of both threads...  I estimate abut 25 attendees, not including any spouses , parents or offspring etc. + of course the local hosts....  and families etc... so definitely 30 i would have thought.

Tunnie, if you haven't already,  it might be a polite and nice idea to invite your parents to the BBQ, as they're supplying the driveway for the 4 pot jobs

If you're planning on serving wine, may I suggest Buckfast? It's the only wine worth mentioning, and it's a tonic wine so is very soothing! :D

I'm not "Planning" on it as such... it was merely  a suggested option...

We'd have to agree to differ on Wine choice.... as I'm  rather a wine lover.(Lover, NOT snob) .....    and a half italian Scorpio.....   probably best just live an let live on the whole...
