I am running on a 2002 omega also have thought what car will be its replacement when looking for this car also looked at merc's and 5 series BMW can say it wont be a merc. Wish they still made the Omega its my best car to date. Have always traded a car in when they reach the 100k mark or 6 year old, am on 68k so have about 2 years to go, just may be I can see this one will be going to last me over the time period and mileage that I set myself.

General Discussion Area / Re: Caravanning - Omega's as towcar!
« on: 19 July 2006, 21:19:25 »
Have caravanned since the mid 1980's always used the larger cars and also a landrover 110 . Towed also with the last car mondeo 2ltr estate was okay but this was the smallest of all engines. Now to the point sold the van last year, traded in the mondy and bought the Omega, so now a real good tow car and no caravan, no we wont be going back to caravanning.

Hi to all, I am Pete, drive a 2002 cdx estate 2.2, have owned the car for nearly a year, really pleased with it. I was on the other site, known as peterjohn34 but have changed to peterjohn36 as the reg: with hotmail was causing a problem. I live in Fareham Hampshire. look forward to see this site build into a leading site for Omegas. Keep all the good work up.

just asked my brother who works in the motorsport industry and has contacts with F1 suppliers and at prodrive for example(trying to give him credibility here!).

He advises as we suspect that there are a few stigs being used at the moment depending on who is available etc.

what he can confirm is that Mark Webber and Damon Hill HAVE done some stints as the stig

I chuck that one into the ring!

As I placed on my thread you are also going down the right road

You sure you're not getting mixed up here? Mark Webber and Damon Hill have indeed been on the show, but only as guests and both had a go in the reasonably priced family car. Incidentally, Mansell also had a go in it and caned both of their lap times as I recall.

No I am thinking on the up and comming F1 drivers only.

I would keep to the modern GPS systems, better road maps  also you can keep upto date with the safety cameras.

Well done to the people who have got this site up and running in such a short time aswell, it is a real big credit to you, just shows how much us omega owners think of there cars, as the membership is also building at a rapid rate. All the best in the future to the people running the site.
