injector fuel pipes
« on: 27 July 2016, 22:48:37 »

I put the injector fuel pipes from injector pump to injectors today. are they always a chew to do.   I hope they are put back right. I did put different coloured tape round each pipe & made a note of what I,d done. but could not find paper . but this is how Iv,e piped it up.
            INJECTOR PUMP      1   2
3   4   I,m sure the top two are right, & I think the odd numbers were on the outside of the pump.
I cannot find anything on google to check & the Haynes manual is no help. I will be ready to attempt to start as long as I have plumbed it up ok

not really a few prayers & more than likely lots of cursing. the guide  ( Haynes ) suggest crack No,s 1 & 2 a complete turn to release air, if it starts to run momentum may get rid of air in 3 & 4. if you have any tips I would be grateful for any help. I do have a good battery on the vehicle & another two stood by.

Do you have one of the small hand priming bulbs?

You have to be so careful with a VP44 pump with respect to priming as the power transistors are cooled by the fuel and obviously the fuel is a the lube for the pump

[/quote  yes I am aware , luckily a previous owner installed a priming bulb after the filter. also whilst underneath the car I have noticed what looks like a black ball & although I never checked it out I assumed it was a priming ball from the tank.
