Stop your DD, submit a reading every month, pay that bill, any of your money they have as credit ask for it back.
Your money should be in your pocket not theirs.

All these sky high bills are speculation.

General Car Chat / Re: Cheap-ish windy gun
« on: 21 August 2022, 10:56:52 »
I've got one that I use with a 4 ah battery. They are ok for whizzing wheel nuts off once cracked with a breaker bar, but they generally struggle with wheel nuts that have been on for a period of time (as we all know they always seen tighter on removal than when they were originally fitted ::))
However, I also have a Lidl Parkside 'Performance' 20v cordless impact wrench, which delivers a massive 1896nm of 'nut busting' torque, and I have yet to find any nut / bolt that it won't loosen virtually immediately. Heavier than the 400nm version, but a cracking piece of kit, with a 5 year warranty (Lidl are extremely good in honouring their warranties if ever needed). I waited for the Performance version to come into UK stores, but gave up after 12 months, and ordered one from Germany for approx £140 delivered.

Must be different internals, as the one on sale is the 20v version.

General Car Chat / Re: Issues with the SAAB.
« on: 16 August 2022, 21:20:28 »
What happens if you pop the old MAF back in?
.

 No difference.

It's like the tickover is set to low, drops to about 500, then rises to 600ish, continually hunting tickover,

It's 2.0t,,,, can't remember if that's Aircon on or off, we've done the spraying of carb cleaner about, couldn't find anything, might have to go, pull each pipe off and check each one... Do you have the Saab cartridge for your tech2..

The Saab is being a pain, new cam chains fitted, timing is correct, compression is good, new plugs etc fitted, coil packs changed,.new atmosphere sensor,MAF changed, coil vapouriser changed..
It ticks over lumpy and slightly hunting, switch the Aircon on it ticks over fine.

Well, I'm very disappointed, that our Lord Opti, hasn't posted anything about the girls playing ball foot, as his take on the whole thing would have been excellent.

Omega General Help / Re: OIl leak and blue smoke
« on: 25 July 2022, 14:16:59 »
Does it say on the receipt what oil was put in at oil change ?
all the computers and motor factors say use 5w30 fully synthetic BUT
Omega owners here say 10w40 semi synthetic   ;)
in my experience with 100K mile vauxhalls of the era ,5w30 semi is too p155y .unless they have had good quality oil ,regular service etc .
5w30 will leak from seals, blow past rings ,leak through VSO seals, strip built up deposits from parts of the engine etc
I've had a 1.6 with stuck piston rings AFTER a garage did a flush and used 5w30 oil (to reduce emissions  ::) )
I had to strip that engine ,clean everything and rebuild it  >:(
the high emissions proved to be an injector leaking once rebuilt ,and it passed MOT with virtually zero CO & HCs

You should check if the blue smoke is actually coming from OUT the exhaust as part of your initial investigation IMHO
.

Beg to differ. My last Omega had done 140k and I bought it with 50k on and only ever used full fat 5/30, my previous was also on 5/30, no issues.

Didn't the EU bring in a law about working more than xx hours a week?

But if happy to do so, and you get what you want from it, be that finacial or something else, why not?
Working Time Directive i believe it was called. Totally impractible in loads of employment scenarios. Also, think that the UK got a stay of a few years before they had to impliment it. :-\

WTD doesn't exist in road haulage, were controlled by drivers hours regs. I can do 60hrs every week, without exceeding my driving hours.
