I agree, the last time it happened TheBoy and I cleaned alot of the connections, but the fault reappeard.

We then decided it must be a faulty sensor, so I replaced it (last November).

The fact that it has now happened again does point to a faulty connection somewhere.

I will investigate further.

Glad its sorted AA, sorry to be so slow to respond to this thread.

It was a 71 when you brought it over, and replacement helped.

I would wait and see if it happens again, then go from there...  ...I can't believe the sensor could have faired again (unless it is getting damp etc??)

Glad the TechII did what it says on the box (or on eBay to be precise, as it does not actually come with a box...)

Have you tried connecting it to other systems yet e.g. auto gearbox, ABS/TC, Aircon, etc...?

I can't believe it's the sensor again, will investigate the connections in the side panel.

Not yet, only engine and airbag, one thing at a time. ;)

TheBoy cleared all existing fault codes when I was over there in November.

The surprising thing was the airbag message was in English!

The only fault codes in existance, if I remember correctly, were very old radio codes. No other codes were showing.

Gearbox and engine software were up to date.

I don't have any more fault codes stored, as far as I can tell.

Haven't used the car today, other than to reset the airbag code, and done a few stops and starts to check it.

Hmmm and i was thinking P0700 and P1700 were common codes for 2.2's.....wonder whats causing mine then?  :-/ As you dont get them. Probably a loose connection somewhere too! maybe?

Just a point too, don't be tempted to do tests with a  multimeter, the voltage MAY fire the pyros off!  I know someone who this happened to, ARSE!
