Project TB2 has arrived
« on: 29 March 2007, 23:01:53 »

Worse kept secret here, not that it was a secret, I have a new project car - a 1999 (though 98 MY) Elite TD with 'issues'

More details to follow soon.

I'm guessing suspect head gasket, when more likely the water pump has fallen to bits :)

Has it got leather?

You're too young to work on it! I want someone older!

;D

Seriously, until I can work out what the issues are, I am just 'tinkering'.  Doubt I'll be doing anything too major this weekend to it, but any opinions welcomed.

Don't forget I have posession of your Timing kit, Mr Admin ;D

If it's the car I'm thinking of.. my opinion is definately water pump

I've never done a pump on a TD, but how hard can it be.... lets have a look, and if it's looking like the pump... get it apart !

I'm free on  Tuesday I think, I was going to be putting the V6 together, but I'm happy to come and do something a bit different ..

Not waterpump. Old one is sat in AA's dustbin. It was fine.

And how hard is a waterpump on a BMW tractor engine? I PITA if you can't get the stupid bloody fan off  >:(

And the belt tensioner is a right PITA without the right tool  >:(

Tensioner needs a ronnie adjust - easy when you know. I love this engine and want a 1999 TD elite, so Jaime.... talk to me mate. Wanna swap for a 1999 CDX Auto? gerabox about to be done on Sunday, only 115k?

Talk man dammit........

Fin, why so keen on the TD mate? Just out of interest... I would have thought the 3.0 is a lot more refined? :)
