Sat Nav .........Hmmmm!
« on: 04 June 2007, 07:10:06 »

Right a question for the experts.   ;D

Is there any truth in the rumours that Stanav systems with the Sirf star III chipset, are less likely to suffer with respect to signal strength, through these coated windscreens?

Thanks chaps!

Could well me a nice marketing story designed to sell Sirfstar chipsets!

The better the receiver the better it will cope with any poor signal conditions but I'd only expect a marginal improvement.

Omega windscreens don't seem to cause a problem though  :y

StarSirf III is significantly more sensitive than StarSirf II

StarSirf II works fine with Omega windscreen, but weak through Citroen reflective screens...
