Checked. Its a Golf. I'm trying to like it, but its a shitbox.

Does anyone know how to disable the annoying beeping every time you rev it over 2000rpm, as its getting on my tits?

Why dat den? Is it fitted with some sort of canal boat engine that doesn't like revving above that? Of is that to remind you that it's lying about its emissions? ;)

F knows. It just bongs away saying "speed too high", and another icon in the silly display (designed to distract drivers from looking where they are going, which explains the behaviour of most VW drivers) suggests changing up, but if you do that, the engine labours until it eventually stalls.

The tacho has redline at 6k, so assume its proper fuel, but designed for a lawnmower.

Depends which display you have in it

The 17 plate Octavia estate had a built in sat nav / dab unit / MFD
Iirc, the car had 3 settings for driving dynamics.
Eco / normal / sport.
Sport disabled the speed chime.
OR if you go through the driving settings and up the limit. I think the highest it will go is 100 mph.

If it has just the small display in between the clocks like we had on the polo hire cars, its menu, MFD then scroll down and untick the box  :y

Also could be a speed warning, you can adjust in the MID. I've set mine to 100mph, it will bing and light up when you reach that speed.
