Omega General Help / V6 Breather seals and O rings
« on: 22 March 2018, 13:37:11 »
Hopefully someone can help?  I am looking to do a breather clean on my 2.6. I have rang the local dealer who say Breather bridge to plenum seal - 90467543 is no longer sold and there is no alternative.  Could anyone tell me if they have found an alternative or where I can get one?  They stock Breather bridge to throttle O ring - 90500983 but have to pay £9 up front for 5 of them.

I would prefer to get the plenum seal if I can, as the way my luck goes the one on the car will be damaged when taking the piece off.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I found this on the Gates Site. Which of these Kits are the best one? Swapping the pulleys if it makes life easier.

Thanks for the reply.  So any of the two that I put links to would work, just do the backplate swap.

Don't know. The parts department up here are not much good. When I had my Jeep and tried to order parts it was a nightmare.
Could someone please tell me the correct Gates or Contitech Timing Belt Kit Parts Number, I need for my 2.6?  If possible one where it is a straight swap, without having to sort out backplates, etc.  All the ones I keep finding need some alterations doing to them.

Thank you in advance for all help.

Hi thanks for the reply.  I rang local Vauxhall dealer, just for a laugh. They took the Reg No. then said could you wait a minute.  The phone was put on hold. When the parts person came back on, he said am I sure I wanted a full kit, when I said yes he said it was £320 including Vat. He said that was alot, but said he had one in stock.  Good job I was sitting down. :o

Thanks Cam.in.head for the reply. I have found a Contitech kit, but not sure if this is the correct one, it says that the adjusters and belt are in it.

I am looking for a waterpump, for when I do the timing belt on my 2.6.  I have looked on here but cannot seem to find much information, except don't get one with nylon impellar.  I looked on ebay and found these.

Or this one on Eurocarparts

I have heard of Borg and Beck, but don't know of their quality now.

I am open to recommendations or makes other people have used.

Thanks in advance

Omega General Help / Re: Misfire
« on: 19 February 2018, 18:45:54 »
Sorry to hear about your bad luck.  I hope you manage to sort it.  My 2.2 petrol kept missfiring and playing up, I changed cam and crankshaft sensors, coil pack and new plugs. It ran great for a while but started playing up again, my error code again was for the camshaft sensor. I lost all confidence in it as unknown when it would play up, so have bit the bullet and scrapped it, got a 2.6 now.

Thank you Zirk. PM sent to him, just have to wait for a reply.
