If your going to remove the S/L dampers, I could be interested in them if they are reasonably useable.  :y
If you do that you must change from S/L spec springs. They are far too soft to stay on the car with normal spec dampers.
As mentioned above, rear springs are a bit of a nightmare to get right. The ones currently on the rear of my car have the rear sitting too high.
I seem to remember Doc Gollum recommending Kielen heavy duty for the rear, so will probably investigate that option when I get around to it.

The rear shocks have pipes leading up to them but they are not connected to them so assuming it's standard shocks on them. I'll need to have a look at shocks see if I can see any ID on them.

I had a look at Kilen springs and they only list non SL ones so imagine Dg was talking about changing over to non SL stuff.

Assuming there are no corrosion issues that may be allowing water ingress, I found the leak into my boot appeared to coming through the spot welded seam in the front edge of the boot lid aperture, just behind the rear window on either side.
You could see daylight through the seam if you shone a torch behind it. I applied a thin smear of Dum Dum both sides of the seam, forcing it directly into the seam, and its has been fine since. And it is barely visible unllike brushable seam sealer.

Has anyone had an issue with water leaking in the boot of a 3.0 saloon. Have just emptied the boot and the carpet is soaked. Have looked for any water marks but nothing obvious. Can see the vents on rhs behind the bumper where it could get in. But any advice would be appreciated

Omega was £415 to tax so that's gone up £20  :(
Still .... at least the council will have that cash to fix all the bloody pot holes  :) :-\ :( >:(
car insurance renewal £100 too much (compared to other sites) so I'll have to waste my time arguing them down again  ::)

C'mon Dave you know that's not how it works.  ::)

Your twenty quid is more likely to go towards Mohammed's nice hotel than a pothole.  :-X
Mohammed and his mates will soon turn that nice hotel into a pot hole. ;D

 ;D

Guess who pays to fix up the pothole hotels when Mohammed and his mate have all been given council houses?  ::)

Dont suppose his replacement will be much better though.  ::)

Tht SNP fell down the Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole ages ago. This and their ridiculous 'hate crime bill' just about sums up these loons. :)

Suplex list a rear spring for the saloon with self levelling (ride height adjustment or something similar). I can't remember their part no now (maybe able to find it somewhere if req). The ride height was somewhere near to the original, but still too high. I noticied the clear difference in ride height when I decided to remove them after I found a scrapper with clearly nearly new genuine LA springs fitted ( :y) That was about 6 years ago though......
P.S. that was one lucky day..... :y
