Those of you following this sad tale of bent valves may remember one of my earlier posts sometime last summer "She died on Friday..." well this is the very same Elite I was about to scrap due to work/time/space constrictions ,but my neighbour (and owner of his own car workshop business) took pity on me and has sort of taken this disaster on as a "care in the community" project ie I live in the community and clearly need some sort of care. Anyway to save you all from seeking out my old posts my cambelt went at 70+ MPh (Auto V6 2.5) these bent valves are the result. All six pistons have evidence of being kissed, but there is not enough lipstick to cause a divorce so they will stay in their original home. I have inspected the valve guides very closely and can see no sign of cracks or splits but would be very happy to take advice from any OOFite.
The cost will be the obvious undoing of this project , so far cost of valves /gasket set is "fairly reasonable"..but again if anyone out there has good advice on buying spares , please post...wish me luck .

You might be able to pick up an entire spare set of heads cheaper than a (new) set of valves, I reckon..

[edit] In fact there's a bunch on fleaBay for £100-150 a pair..

Get a apir of second hand heads, its difficult to spot cracked guides by eye and a pair of heads will be about the same price as 24 valves (or possibly cheaper).

You can fix this for around 300 in parts (including heads)
