Bye bye, Old Friend
« on: 06 August 2023, 09:18:06 »

Yes my appointment was for tomorrow with Mr Serek, but unfortunately 12.5 years of Mv6 ownership came to an abrupt end yesterday literally 5 mins having just spent hundreds of ££s on 4 x new Bridgestones with less than 1 mile on them. backend went into a slide which i tried desperately to correct, I'm no rally driver, after that it was me and central reservation barrier. Thank God there was no else on the road. the motor is now scrap, interesting the previous tyres where Michelin pilot sport and they never did that..

Such a shame  :( but at least no one was badly hurt .
New tyres need bedding in , like brakes ,gentle to start ,to rip the mould coating off
Also , when swapping tyre brand or even tread pattern , you need to gradually learn how they handle (or DON'T)

Alas , advice too late in this case  :(

Rainbow pattern on a wet road? Smell of diesel in the air?

Damn shame especially after spending a bit of cash on it, but as long as you escaped unhurt that's the most important thing, know how you must feel though I purchased a really nice Sierra estate years ago from the auctions had it serviced & valeted and then it got written off by a young lad driving a tractor !

I was half a mile from Watford M1 junction 5. Was specifically going there, not to drive like a madman but to see if the vibration that comes in 65 was still there so I could report to Serek. or it could have a whole lot worse  :o
