Omega General Help / Super Mig On Gas
« on: 21 December 2008, 15:46:55 »
After spending a week on and off fitting the LPG kit from my Elite to Helen's superMig, I have, what I think is a LIMPMODE rev limit at 4500 rpm on Petrol and gas.

I phoned MDTM and he asked what fault codes were present and these are the results. I did make a mistke by cutting 3 WRONG wires but after rechecking the pinouts these were rectified.

THE EML IS NOT ILLUMINATED

The faults stored are:
With the engine NOT running
19 Incorrect RPM Signal
61 Fuel Tank Ventilation Valve Voltage Low
73 Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage Low
82 Injector Valve 2 Voltage Low
86 Injector Valve 6 Voltage Low
89 O2 Sensor 2 Open Circuit

Will change the O2 sensor N/S i think
and the MAF tomorrow

Mark, Jamie, Kevin "Mr LPG" Wood , thoughts please. :y

Omega General Help / What's the difference between 2.5 and 3.0????
« on: 12 December 2008, 21:17:54 »
Apart from 500cc's

After killing my 3.0, for the sake of a starter motor, (which I had spare) I took out the LPG kit.

I don't wanna take the Super mig off the road at the moment so thought, ok do it bit by bit.

So today i decided to swap the inlet manifold and plenom over.
Off with the 2.5 plenom and inlet and on with the 3.0 inlet. then the plenom ohh poo the hose from the coolant bridge was too short. off with the plenom and the skuttle panel. 3.0 pipe fitted, jobs a goodun', NOT.

cruise cable is too short, so changed that to 3.0 and then the throttle cable. OK now see what happens.

Turn the key and 3000 revs
unplug the ICV and 700 revs, Change the ICV and it was the same.
unplug it and 700 revs.

Off to pick Helen,  from town and guess what, IT WON'T CHANGE GEAR. 1st the 2nd thats it.

Spoke to TB and he couldn't throw any light on the problem.

OK put the 2.5 Plenom back on together withe the 2.5 cruise and throttle cables. boxed it all back together and it's like nothing had been changed. she runs like a dream.

Tank / Filler and Pipework tomorrow

SO..... whats the difference between the 2.5 and 3.0 apart from the physical size of the plenom and the kick down on the throttle cable.

TIA
Julian

PS. I didn't use the 2.5 plenom to start with because the 3.0 one already has the vacuum pipes drilled and tapped with the nozzles.

Omega General Help / Tractor still ill
« on: 02 October 2008, 13:24:40 »
After fitting Deiseldeans replacement engine in the tractor, it started 1st time deep joy....

once all the fuel filters and bits were replace and refitted... looks the part.

ticks over 650prm, revs  no prob go to drive it and it's dead.

pre intercooler pipe expands when revving post intercooler expands also. so the turbo is working.
If you try to drive it it won't rev.

then remembered sommat TB had mentioned while I was visiting his. Disconnected the MAF and away she goes, pulls like a train.

reconnect it and dead again.

any ideas whould be appreciated
Julian

Omega General Help / Will Plastic Metal Fix This??
« on: 23 September 2008, 20:35:32 »
As some of you are aware, Myself and Swmnbo have aquired a number of miggies over the last 3 days.

Well to be honest, the tractor wasn't entirely her fault, but that's another story.

Tractor bought with "suspected HG failure"
After talking to a few people, I was warned about a cracked head, so this morning armed with spanners, sockets, off with the head.

Well after some "hmmm not done one before" but it looks easy, OFF CAME THE HEAD.

carried and sat on the undertray all gently, Gasket looks fine, ok cracked head, so lets look, and this is what myself and Fred117 found to start with.

That does not look good so back to the block and see what damage the lack of valve head has done to the Piston Crown.

OMG the look of absolute amazement fell on Freds face

Can you spot something missing?

Now back to the title of this thread

WILL PLASTIC METAL FIX THIS?????

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Omega General Help / At a loss now PLEASE HELP
« on: 12 July 2008, 14:59:20 »
After rebuilding Fred117's engine, the EML light has come on, It wasn't on before the rebuild. Just a load rattle.

Had a Snap-solus plugged in yesterday and it said the cam sensor was dead. we have got another 1 and tried that and the car drives worse. It actually dies. I have autodata CD2 and have gone through the fault and componant testing and the wiring is fine, the sensor is reading within the correct tolerences. :'( :'( :'(

If anyone has any ideas please pm me and i'll give you my number  I'll call you I have 3000 x-network Free minutes to use. :y :y

Omega General Help / knock sensor code 16
« on: 08 July 2008, 20:47:23 »
I just had my EML come on,  Rickyboy wrote this yesterday
Quote
Temp guage and dash sounds like the wire from the temp sensor is either loose or not connected.  Make sure the spade is connected firmly on and the wiring has no splits.  I took the spade off on mine and closed it a bit with a pair of pliars. Not sure of its location on your car.

As for the traction control light and the trouble starting - I reckon that's wiring related as well.  I recently had a knock sensor code coming up every time I went over 2000rpm and would disappear at 4000rpm.  Found the soldered wires linking the sensors to my lpg conversion were all touching and needed seperated with insulation tape.

but I don't know which wire(s) hes talking about,

Any Ideas would be great. :y :y :y
