That is shocking.

We have a friend in the East Midlands. Her neighbour is a good example. She has a good life on state support and a son who doesnt work. The reason? “ He openly admits he wouldnt be able to get up in a morning” They have streaming services.

The amount payable from the benefits system should be capped at what the recipient would otherwise be worth in the labour market, minus a percentage that ensures they do get up in the morning.

I would think that nheighbours streaming would only affect your connection if they are using your connection because it is via a sim, so effectively a personal connection rather than shared from the landline connection. 

Back haul network is always the bottleneck, more users less to go around 

Yes, there's nothing "personal" about a mobile network. You are all sharing a limited resource (often quite limited in a rural area).

As said, if they've added some 5G it will likely have reduced the local 4G capacity, so might be useful to get ahead of the trend and get a 5G capable router.

Sadly, the network is probably not making enough money from a rural cell to convince them to spend significant money upgrading it.

French badged, but Toyota stamped all over the engine parts. 
998cc engine. Ive had motorbikes with bigger engines. 
£20 a year road tax.
MOT two days ago. Passed with no advisories.
84000 miles on the clock.
ULEZ exempt.
Had to spend a grand on it though. 

Good choice! I rather like these. Most of the ones I've seen under a grand have been total sheds. That sounds like a goodun though. And much less to go wrong than with dear Pierre 😉

I know a few people with them. They fall into the categorys of either not knowing how to open the bonnet / get them serviced or not caring, so if you've found one that has been looked after, well done!

The climate panel can be configured to work with or without the pump, if memory serves, so the replacement panel might not have the correct config (although I'd be surprised, since most late UK cars had the pump).

The A32. One bellend turns his car over on some ice and they close the whole road for a week. 2 other roads in the area all closed for long periods closing off a couple of the alternative routes and my commute (when I CBA to do it) has turned into a nightmare.

.. and we wonder why productivity in this country is p*ss poor.

Damn right, its a hoot in the twisties, even in her under powered version.  Still, a mere 163bhp means you have to no slow down for the bends 

See, this is where we differ. You are still hooning around like a teenager whereas I am genuinely remorseful and haven’t driven at speed since …….. well …… Monday as it happens, but that’s not the point. 

You don't necessarily have to drive at speed to enjoy twisties. 


The bit where you have to drive at speed is to get past all the utter, utter dullards who driver everywhere at 35 MPH whether it be dark, light, rain, dry, past a school, on black ice.

A British General has said that sending tanks and weapons to Ukraine has weakened Britains ability to respond to an attack from Russia.

No sh1t sherlock. In my conspiracy theory of some months ago, the West sends weapons to the Ukraine and fails to gear up replacement production. Russia softens up the West for a year then the Chinese kick off along with North Korea. Game over. Russia moves Poseiden into place this month. Hypersonic missiles too.

The stuff we're sending to Ukraine would be no use to us against the Russians. You've just mentioned hypersonic missiles, tanks don't shoot them down. We have our own missiles and, judging from the way basic Ukrainian stuff managed to get 300 miles into Russian territory with even being noticed, they would get where we wanted them to.

Lets hope you are right. The German co that make Leopard tanks say if sent , it will be 2024 before they could be replaced.

I think we'll have glassed the northern hemisphere over long before we need tanks to fend off the Russians.

My blood pressure pills gave me palpitations until I got used to them.
MSG is the main culprit now. Some takeaways must really go for it because it only happens when I eat certain meals from certain takeaways.

stick to boiled sprouts, cabbage , fish etc

My last house had a wood and bakelite CU and while I was in the process of adding a circuit for a new kitchen the wooden frame fell apart in my hands and left me holding the bakelite remains with it all still live. I decided the best course of action was to pull the main fuse and be damned with the lead seal. Fitted a new CU and never got round to getting the seal replaced. It got done at the next meter change without attracting any comment.

Afterall, duct taping an old cornflake box to the o/s of the boot would have done the same job. 

Using some stick-on velcro to attach a box to the boot carpet would actually work.

Now I dont mean to stereotype, but that ususally always means the car is utterly fooked.

No need to stereotype. Judging by the guys in my team at work, anything owned by a Gen Z'er will be "utterly fooked".

I do try to instil the need for basic maintenance, or even checking things like tyre pressures, but to no avail.
