I really didn't want to pay this but unfortunately my balls were just not big enough to take the risk. :-\

You could pay less RFL, but at what cost?

See, not such bad value after all ;)

Pretty sure tax is £50.50 each month for both the Signum and the Tata. £600 a year.

I've spent more than that on loose women and illegal substances. :)

Well, I pay both but it is neither. I was really pissed off with having to pay but then I heard about a deranged Irish fella who spent £1000 on a baby tortoise. ::)

I don't feel so bad now. ;)

I suppose it could be classed as insurance. It is an extended warranty for the car. I was speaking with a man who owns an XFR-s that decided to eat it's own engine and gearbox. Apparently this cost more than £11,000 to fix.

So far I have had problems with the central locking system, folding mirror motors, leaking diff, and 2 new bonnet struts....along with some other items.

Have had all the locks replaced on the Range Rover a very common fault on the RR forum one was paid for by the vendor & I have had the others done over the last 12 months as they were playing up intermittently.

Actually, I lied. It was 4 not 3. Forgot about the tedious Sierra I paid £3500 for.

15 of the 31 (that I can remember) cost over a grand*, but of the 16 others that didn't, the last five cars average out at about £475 and the other eleven averaged £397 :o

*These averaged out at £7,600 :-[

In my defence, only one didn't have an MoT when I bought it and I have owned more Omegas than Granadas :D

I never did get to own the Coupe I wanted. Still do, but it would need to be a nice one before I found a mk2 subframe and a BOA. So none of that is ever going to happen.

The tortoise will grow.

Cars tend to lose mass. And consequently value

Tortoise's can live for over a hundred years .... how many modern cars will last even half that ??  Good investment IMHO ...  :)

Strange though it may sound, yes. Its a lovely little character and for some reason makes both swmbo and I happy. I really am getting old.  ::) ;D
This particular version should live for around 50 years, which is a problem, as we wont.

If you want a thread regarding Granada restore/modification .. then have a read here .. slightly old now, and goes on a bit (ok .. more than a bit... forever!) but the end result is amazing ...

Had two MK1 Granadas 3.0 & 1 MK2 2.8 thought that they were great back then, but in all honesty my 2.6 Omega was far better in my opinion, all 3 of the Ford's leaked when it rained and had sopping wet footwells in the front.

I was about to agree, but then remembered my 1989 3 door escort estate. That had many foibles, but it didn't leak.

The other two I've owned, Mk3 Mondeo TDDi and Ford Jaguar X-type both liked to take on water.  ::)

Funnily enough, I spotted the new Puma this morning, so thought I'd have a look online as to what it is, what is does etc.

One feature... It has a rubber-lined boot, which you can wash out using a hose....

I thought to myself, "There will be plenty of water in there, no need for a hose".

Yes, until I traced the leak, the spare wheel well on my Mondeo became a pond very quicly in wet weather.  ::)

That was the spec we had. Managed that special combo of being both slow and thirsty. Shame really because on paper the 3.0 should at least have been adequate, but wasn't.

The old man had a 3.0v6 manual S-type. A fugly little so n so, but a much better car than the x. I'm hoping that the same power plant at 280bhp/tonne in the kit car will be much more lively.  :y

I briefly owned an X-Type Mondeo with a 3 litre V6 and all wheel drive.

Never again. :-X

This is roughly the same power to weight ratio as my Tata......with the remap it has 560-570 BHP to push 1900 Kg about.

Im sure its mighty impressive to drive, but imo half the power with half the weight is much more fun.

Yes..... twice the power and half the weight makes for a better equation though. ;)
