Why / How have you got 2 tech2's?
I did think about buying it from TB......but i would need it to do CAN which i think is another load of dosh for the upgradeA CANdi is expensive, usually around $500 - $600, and is required to do Astra-H, Veccy-C, and Signum.And i still havent found out if the tech2 can read dual fuel ECU's.
VeccyC is going to vx dealer in Bath shortly for LPG issue......must remember to ask or even see if i can get a peek at the kit they use.

Can emissions light be detected with cheapo tech2, or does it need a real one?

The light came on when I picked up the car before the head rebuild.. it only came on when I bashed the dash, so I guessed it had been on for a while undetected.
I think step 1 will be to double check the vacc setup (TD, I might have to have a look at your 2.2 with DBW!) and step 2 - read and reset.
If that fails, step 3 will be to get the emissions read. if they are ok, remove the bulb [smiley=evil.gif]

im on the sheer dregs of the last rover - ashtrays, Rover badges, indicator stalk, oil cap, coolant cap, sunroof motor, heater resistor and heater dial knobs amount to £70... if its broke...brake itHmmmm, heater resistor - would that be same as Rover 25 one? Her 1 speed doesn't work, likely to be resistor? How much?
