Tricky one here Gary. I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth & believe it or not being the black sheep of the family come from a privileged background. That said i preferred the working class life & still do to this day so have lived both sides of the coin. I find shouting in the street vulgar & uncivilised, usually between two crusty fishwives or two blokes that are scared of eachother but feel the need to front the bravado. If two children fight they should be taken aside & punished separately, no need for both sides of the family to kick off & if the adults fight over the kids fights what sort of example does that show the said children.

As parents, aunts, uncles etc. i think we should'nt fight in front of them. Just my thoughts, i've been to a few ex girlfriends family "gatherings" over the years & found some of the behaviour in front of children disgraceful & glad i'm out of it & can enjoy visiting family happily. Best of luck matey, rather you than me! :y

I like Rangies. Being a a classic lover my favourite is the original 3.5 carb 2 dr...early 70's but they're all nice motors. I'm no expert but a mate had a lovely red M plate soft dash a while ago. This was originally fitted with air suspension but had been retro changed to shocks & coil overs which many owners seem to prefer as it's more straight foward & cheaper.
Not sure if you can retro change this model but it might be worth enquiring as i've hears the air set up can be troublesome & costly. Guy. :y

Easy. You need a VXR8....family 4 door saloon. Most are auto although there are a few manuals about! 8)

I think it's a modded standard 5.7 not the 6.0 VXR, including the body & exhaust upgrades but i'm no expert so could be wrong there. I'm going to buy one in the near future but think i'll stick to a standard model with history etc. As one of you said, doubling the BHP will make the engine fragile to say the least & there are insurance costs to consider plus the strain on the rest of the running gear/drivetrain....tyres..... & it's only a claimed power output.

Whatever it is i bet it goes like merry break & sounds great!!!! 8) :D

...but i really like it & am tempted just for gentle pottering about as in a classic car.

Yes i know they don't stop or go around corners, are money pits, totally impractical & i would'nt pay half the asking price but, the looks, the sound & grin factor are unbeatable i reckon! 8)

General Discussion Area / Re: 1 month to The Lakes meet
« on: 07 June 2012, 22:12:31 »
I'm somewhat subdued nowadays which is in contrast to my more "colouful" years but still drop in from time to time as i have many fond memories over the last few years. My point being that if any of you are in doubt as to whether to attend a meet or not due to on screen bickering, don't worry, check your levels, get packed & go. I've been to a few meets starting with the first Lakes do & we never have any bother. I don't think that's down to keyboard bravery as many of us are capable in a scuffle just not with eachother.

The atmosphere is friendly enough for families & junior Oofers. Food & drink is always in abundance (or if undercooked ambulance?) which is why TB is as cuddly as someone asked!!!!! Guy. 8)

General Car Chat / Mondeo clutch.
« on: 01 June 2012, 20:11:14 »
A mate has recently bought a 2001 2.0 TDCi duratorq with a new clutch fitted? It's running ok but slips if pushed. We've been told it could do with a thorough bleed but it seems we need a specialist kit. We know it's a bit of an epic job & risky if the bleed nipple is opened too much.

Has anyone got said kit we could borrow or if not too far from Lincolnshire could we bring the car to you? Might be able to scrape up a modest fee!

This is for a mate who works hard, has no money & a child & pregnant wife. If the clutch goes the car's scrap. It's fine otherwise.

Thankyou "B" & TB"! Sorry for the magic tree thing but you did ask for it! That was a long time ago, if you can change it back then surely you can put it right now? I am "Amigo"...nothing else to do with trees or otherwise. PC's for me are a plaything, i don't sit behind one all day so i still don't know anymore than ebay, youtube, that gay dating site that is facebook & have zero knowledge of proper computing...i'm a surfer that's it but surely those that run the forum can make simple adjustments so i can log in on the lappy please?

I'm not being stroppy like i know i have in the past been & my knickers are not in the slightest bit twisted...mmmmm... but i used to be able to log on anywhere & would like to again please Sweetie XXX :-* :-* :-*

If so why is the username highlighted in black here on my desktop & on the lappy i still can't log in on.  This is'nt me & the name may be pure coincidence but i've not been able to log in on my lappy for a year or two now despite PM'ing admins who tell me my new password whuch never works & now tell me to use the forgotten password option as they can't make my original password or the "new" one they gave me work.

It's like asking a politician to give a straight answer to a question they don't like. I got my post count reinstated after leaving & rejoining but then had 10,000 knocked off which they "can't" put back despite being able to take them away. I don't care about those now but can one of you who run this site stop messing about, no more flannel try this try that rersponses & PM me whatever password it is you actually want me to use.

Call me what you like, i don't mind in the slightest just let me know what you want the password to be & i'll go with it & no more tekky answers as to why you can't please. If you can take it away then you can put it back so stop peeing up my back & telling me it's raining. Whatever i did i must've paid for it by now????? ::)

The debacle ( please tell me I'm wrong)
Entwoods point( I don't like it but it's a valid point)
Politics in excess (and nothing else by some members)
Endless negative threads in Gen chat ( I logged on last week and every single thread was depressing)

Also in agreement with the goings on in General Discussion. Far too much negativity and very unwelcoming. I love this forum but dislike the General Discussion section. Everytime a Daily Hate Mail link is posted (usually by the same people) its always something to do with foreigners/muslims/coloured people. I just avoid that part of the forum.

I bet I'll get lynched now  :-X
No reason you should be lynched, you're allowed to voice your opinions. The age old argument that this is a car forum is well worn out now. Point is our forum has options for all, same as the telly. We can choose what to watch. If we don't like one particular channel we don't watch it & stick to the ones we like. Guy. :y
