Horrible news
« on: 13 April 2012, 15:41:38 »

Met up with a friend of mine this morning. Turns out he's got cancer, he's a top bloke and really would help anyone out, he's in excellent spirits, and is obviously hoping for the best. I couldn't believe it when he said, me and my youngest (good family friend) looked at each other in amazement when he said it. Shocked the life out of me and really put things into perspective of how lucky we really are!

Always happens to the nicest folks.

All the best from here up north - fingers crossed he's caught it early enough?

I really hope so, he's a top fella  :(

As you say though it always happens to the nicest people, he's quite healthy too, to be honest, doesn't smoke, nor drink heavily at all  :(.

I remember when my dad got the news we were all dreading, 9 years ago today.  Sadly, the diagnosis was too late for him, and he died 14 weeks later.

Things have come along way though in the last few years, and more people are surviving cancer and beating it then ever before - I was watching a programme on telly the other night about it (Horizon I think?), and they were showing all the amazing new treatments and drugs.

All the best to your mate, really hope he gets through it x

Thoughts & wishes with you, your mate & his family. If you hav'nt already tell them you love them before it's too late.

You can NEVER get that back. Guy.

Having been there Del, my heart goes out to the bloke and his family because whatever the future outcome (and I hope with all my heart & soul it is a happy one!) they will be going through real turmoil now and at times like this, real friends are usually thin on the ground and priceless! :(

As a survivor my self, though not the person I was, I am still here and hope to have many years left, to enjoy with family and friends, I totally agree with what Phil says..
