Snetterton pics 2
« on: 18 August 2008, 16:38:36 »

Here's some pics from various parts of the circuit.

The Britcar parade lap

More of the parade lap lead by the 2 Mosler V8's

The v8 Star Omega carving it's way up the field

Mosler coming up to lap the Corvette!!

The Aston

The Jag (sounded gorgeous)

One of the several Ferrari's in the race

The Omega in clear air

The Dodge Viper

The Omega had a poor grid position after gearbox problems during Saturday qualifying and started 13th. At the end of the 1st lap it was in 5th!! After a great battle with one of the Mosler's he got up to 2nd but unfortunately suffered a gearbox linkage failure after about an hour and a half and had to retire. :'(

Shame the Omega had to bow out. Otherwise circuit racing at it's best. Do you attend these meets often?

Yeah, it was a real pity because they had a real chance to win. I went to the team garage to find out what had happened after it failed to come back out of the pits and Phil Bennett (driver) and the whole team were really gutted.

We try and get to as many race meets as we can but it always depends on where the meets are and the cost involved. Circuits like Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Snetterton are all within 2 hours travelling so not too bad. Until we saw the Britcars (with the Omega) at Brands earlier this year at the A1 GP, we didn't realise just how bl00dy good they are - some fantastic cars and seriously quick. :y
