Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Head unit safe mode
« on: 04 October 2010, 19:32:30 »
Hi again everyone,
Finally got my car back on the road but having a bit of a problem with the head unit. Put the code in 5 times and now in safe mode. Then I found that the card I was getting the code from was the wrong one.
I've tried the search facility on this subject and the closest answer that I have found is leave the radio on displaying safe and it should give me another go.
Does anyone know how long I need to leave it on for and does this have to be solid for the set period (i.e. do I have to be sat in the car for the whole time) or will it eventually update if I just have it on while I'm driving.
Thanks, as always, I know I'll get the answer from you good people.

IIRC the sender for the gauge is under the inlet housing on or around the coolant bridge. Need to remove most of inlet housing I am afraid. It is the one with only 1 wire on it, the one with 2 wires is for the ecu, not the gauge.

Yeah, had a look to see if I could see it without moving anything and got nowhere. Might have to invest in some tools :(
Thanks for your help mate.

« on: 24 July 2009, 18:12:05 »
Hi All,
Hope that someone can help;
The water temp gauge on my dash has stopped working, it was intermittent for a few days but now has stopped completely, Tried to find the senser in the engine but no idea where it is.
Can anyone help? Is this a common problem and should I be looking engine end or display end?
Thanks everyone in advance. :)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / How do I unlock my CD player?
« on: 02 June 2009, 21:54:17 »
Hi all,
A couple of days ago my CCRT 700 system came up with the message: CD-SAFE. I read up in the manual and if I understand properly it means that the changer in the boot has become briefly disconnected from the battery and needs the code putting in. Looking at the paperwork it appears that I have about five different codes for the sound system. I have tried to put them in but it is not having it. Am I doing something wrong?
It doesn't come up with a message or option to input a code do I have to find a code input screen or something?
I'd really appreciate any help I can get on this one, thanks in advance and will be very grateful when I can get it working :y

Hang on, I'll copy the email and the link to his page. (Might get a discount ;D ;D) track rod ends were on there if I'm not mistaken.
Good morning Mr Patrick,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding Lemforder arms for your Omega. I have now put these on our web shop to make things easier for you guys to purchase what is undoubtedly the best brand of steering and suspension components available in the UK. However I have hidden them slightly until we have catalogued the rest of the product range we specialise in which is BMW and VAG. There are no illustrations yet but the titles of all the items are very clear which should make purchasing the products simple. I have sent a link for you to find the Omega B suspension components. If there is sufficient interest then I will also add shock absorbers and springs, clutches and TRW brake components.. I have price checked the control arms and believe them to be super competitive so I hope that you will purchase from All German Parts Ltd. Please contact us if you need further information as we are always pleased to help.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

As above. I have been on to All German Parts today and the parts that I have asked for come up as "Omega B" parts. I have a prefacelift '99. Is Omega B a facelift? I'm guessing that the guy who has emailed me has got the parts I need right as I gave him my reg but thought that I'd ask as I have wondered about this in the past.
ATB everyone,
Kieren

Have I got this right? Are you asking what to use to fill wee holes? On something that you have de-bagged? ;D ;D ;D

Omega General Help / Re: Bio Diesel...
« on: 17 May 2010, 21:44:22 »
A while ago I had my Land Rover repaired by a guy who was rebuilding a Saab engine which had been run on Bio diesel and had blown up. He gave me a list of about three manufacturers that said that would be the result.
Am sure Vauxhall was on the list but as said, they're BMW engines.
