Omega General Help / Best flywheel to fit?? (V6 2.5)

So guys, I'm wanting to ditch this heavy flywheel for a lighter item, have been on courtenay's site and seen the lightweight billet ones for £300.

Which gearbox is fitted to the 2.5V6?

Will an F20 or F28 flywheel fit, as retro-fitted to cavalier and vectra 2.5 v6's to save weight and improve acceleration??

Omega General Help / Mayo in header tank :(

Bought the car on friday having sold my Astra GTE the week before.

Yesterday coolant started leaking out of the header tank cap (over pressurising?) once engine switched off.

Bubbling noise can be heard from top of engine too (engine turned off)

Runs at 90-95 C round town in 1st and 2nd, and about 85 C on the m'way over 170miles friday night.

Heaters work fine.

Omega General Help / Stutter/missfire/hesitation between 3-4krpm

Does this in every gear, not that harshly but if I plant it, it will accelerate well up to 3k then slight pause then power on again strongly, if that makes sense?

Any ideas?

Was an intermittent thing but now it does it in every gear under all road conditions

Car is '98 x25xe cheers

Omega General Help / EM light on and off

Modded my airbox yesterday (drilled) and left the filter out just to see how loud it sounded, headed off up the road, EM light on and off about 6 times in 2 miles.

Tried flashing the codes (Topbuzz way) but to no avail, I'm assuming EM light didnt stay on for 30secs+ for the code to be stored on the ecu.

Any ideas why the EM light is coming on? I'm assuming it's due to the drilled box+no air filter at the time?

Filter is back in place now.

BTW I'm reluctant to drive the car due to the oil cooler problems, so will not be driving it again now.

Omega General Help / 2.5 V6 Decat(s) Options??

Think one of the CAT's on mine is screwed, rattly sound from exhaust under acceleration.

So was thinking of chopping the CAT's off and welding in some straight pipe instead for the time being.

Are there decats available to buy from anywhere?

Also will an MV6/Elite etc (Twin Tailpipe) Backbox fit on to my 2.5? I've looked at the exhaust system diagrams and they both look identical even with the same bore exhausts, so as far as I know one should fit, is this correct?

Driving back yesterday on a rather wide but twisty road in the tipping rain, with lots of surface water - god these things are tail happy in those conditions

I have Uniroyals on the back with plenty of tread so not down to rubbish tyres or anything..

Will soon be taking the TC bulb out of the dash - fed up of seeing it flashing at me as well hehe
