This is Master Vamps Job but he sent a message to say he was staying at his girlfriends, so asked Miss Vamps to take her out....... ::) ::)  Now why would a 21 year old young man not want the comfort of his own bed? beats me,....... :D :D

Thought it was a bit late for Miss Vamps to take her out so I got the job...... ::) ::)

General Car Chat / Well she let me go looking........
« on: 01 February 2014, 22:13:21 »
swmbo and Miss Vamps wanted to go to Darlington shopping today, with a girlie slant to it, so I said I would drop them off and pick them up a couple of hours later, I would go and have a look at some cars, and she agreed...... :o :o

Darlington is a bit of a Mecca for used car sales, a couple of roads in particular and, last night, I had seen on Auto Trader a Dodge Caliber in Darlington, a place we rarely go to...... :D :D

Anyway had a look around, not sure what I want, but must be Auto, Miss Vamps impressed by the Dodge, me uncertain..... :-\ :-\

Ended up in Morrisons for late lunch and inside was a display of Chevrolet's and I am now under instruction to buy a Chevrolet Trax......... ;) ;)

I rather like it, suits what I may be looking for, but only available new and I hate the money you loose instantly when buying new..... :( :(

General Car Chat / I was just thinking........

Just been looking around at cars on the bay, autotrader and a couple of dealers, as you do... ;) ;)

Thinking about previous purchases and going back 30+ years, the most unreliable car I ever bought second hand was a one that I bought the way we would advise....... ::) ::) search for the best, check everything out etc, having searched the Country etc..........It was, by coincidence, a Mig...... :-X

What were your bad purchases?

Miss Vamps seems to go through charger wires like they are going out of fashion, I blame her for bending, twisting and pulling etc...........She tells me that they are all rubbish, "ask anyone" so I am......... ;) ;) :D :D

1st thought was to kick myself as my box of bits for the car, includes a small compressor, is sitting in the garage after a visit to the tip after Christmas...... ::) ::) :P :-X

Made it to a local Tesco garage where it cost me 50 new pence, I expected to have to pay about 20 pence........ ::) ::) :( :-X

Found a tyre place and got it sorted, leaking rim, cleaned and replaced and all seems well, had the other one done, same thing in October, apparently a problem on a 4X4........ ::) ::)

« on: 22 January 2014, 20:25:05 »
Seeing adverts again, some words are written in blue and if you hover over them they show an add. This has happened before but I have forgotten how to get rid........ ::) ::)

I have logged out and back in again, logged out of the internet and  back in, done a re-start and a scan which came back without an issue; it only happens on oof not on any other forum - had to join a couple to check......... ;) ;) :D

Any thoughts?

Merry Christmas everyone from the Vamps household................. :-* :-* :-*

For a number of years now we have had Christmas Dinner on Christmas eve, allows the older children to do their thing and less of a rush as we go visiting on Christmas Day afternoon, still have a dinner but without all the faff on as it is effectively leftovers...... :y :y

« on: 21 December 2013, 22:19:53 »
A post I made got me thinking....... Why is it OK, even encouraged, for women to buy the man, tools or just about any garage kit, but if a man were to buy the women a iron, or just about any kitchen / household labor saving device, he would be in the dog house, at least?............... ??? ???

I don't know if it is a Vectra A, B C or D but what is the general opinion of the Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 CDTi, one seen is an 08? I love my Jeep but with the work I do the fuel is hurting, even though I get an allowance, so just looking......... ;) ;)

Which do you use?  I don't but thought it might be a good idea, I get is some smelly places and the girls all have a spray to use...

So I ordered one, Blue Stratos, because I liked the aftershave when I was younger, but swmbo says is smells like fly spray :o ???

Miss Vamps likes it and has pinched it to give to me for Christmas...... ::) ::) :D

So what is a nice smelling one for the more mature professional?

I know, being OOF there will be some Gay guys trying to be macho and call me Gay, but I can live with that..... :y :y

Called in to my local 'indy' to see if the Jeep was fixed, still handbrake and slow puncture to sort, get it back tomorrow; no problem.

Re the vibration / noise that I likened to a wheel bearing........ ::) ::) :-[

I was shown what looked like a brake drum, but even heavier, had come off, and been rattling around on the prop shaft, prop goes through the middle, apparently it is, or is part of, a vibration damper, expensive but probably not needed - Can anyone confirm what this is and is it essential, assuming it drives without vibration, which it was even when this was rattling around the prop............. :-\ :-\ :-\
