« on: 24 October 2006, 14:44:43 »Quote
Is the red ok to use on the cam caps?
Well I'll be using it on mine in a couple of days
Can't see there being any issues, as it's pressure resistant, none hardening, oil proof, high temp formula upto 400C, remains flexible ensuring 100% seal.

General Discussion Area / Re: Guess who wrote off their car yesterday....
« on: 24 October 2006, 07:59:35 »Glad you're ok mate
Tip for the future (depends on space etc..) but if you brake and lock up don't just sit there, either get back on the gas to free up the locked wheels, or get your foot off the brake and steer towards where you'd rather go (e.g not into a wall!)..
Sounds to me as though you paniced and overbraked which is a common mistake to make.
Live and learn!

General Discussion Area / Re: Omega chavmobile
« on: 24 October 2006, 07:49:35 »Lol best compromise is to drill the original airbox. Mines sounds great under acceleration, real deep roar..
K&N 57i Induction kits and the like are a total waste of time on the V6's.
Trip to the RR Day in wrexham with a few V6's in attendance proved (through back to back runs) that by fitting an induction kit you can loose upto 12bhp on a hot engine...So waste of time imho.
Exhaust system sounds utter pants as well as standard.
Best bit about these cars is how they 'take-off' at 4krpm.
And they're only really any good at 60mph+ too..

General Discussion Area / RWD Fun in the wet
« on: 23 October 2006, 12:43:39 »Driving back yesterday on a rather wide but twisty road in the tipping rain, with lots of surface water - god these things are tail happy in those conditions
I have Uniroyals on the back with plenty of tread so not down to rubbish tyres or anything..
Will soon be taking the TC bulb out of the dash - fed up of seeing it flashing at me as well hehe
