If my only two choices for going somewhere were flying with Ryanair or walking, then I would walk every single time and I really don't do walking

Totally disagree with this typical nanny state legislation, which puts airfares up for everyone.

If you want covering in such circumstances and many won't if they are travelling from their home to second home etc, so they have somewhere to stay, then it should be by buying insurance for those that need it.

Socialism and nanny state risk aversion has killed enterprise in the UK and Europe. This is why virtually all the big companies of the past 40 years and those that are going to shape the future have and are happening in the US and Asia. Apple, Microsoft, Intel, AMD, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Samsung, Hyundai, LG etc etc. The only UK company I can think of is Vodafone and I can't think of a European one.

What sets Ryanair apart is simply that they choose not to meet their obligations and make claiming as difficult as possible. The fewer people who take them to court, the less they avoid paying out, so any successful claim is a small victory for all the people that he robs blind everyday

Until this court case, it was not a legal obligation. Furthermore, it's all very well and good to talk about people being robbed blind everyday, but those people have a choice whether or not to fly Ryanair. We could, of course, go back to the old days when it was largely only BA that flew scheduled to Europe and it cost a fortune. Plus, the fact that Ryanair and EasyJet have opened up destinations which would otherwise not be served. You get what you pay for which, for the majority of Ryanair customers, is cheapest way to travel fast from A to B.

My aversion to Ryanair is based simply on my experience behind the scenes

I haven't flown with either Ryanair or Easyjet, but based on how they operate from a groundcrew perspective I would happily fly with Easyjet everytime.

he deserves all the crap thry can throw at gim h wanted to charge me £95 to take my wheelchair on his plane and they would not let me take it on board but in the cargohold  but they would not help me on to the plane i cant climb steps ba did it all for free

The first time was horrendous. But then I learnt to pay the extra £10 and it really is worth it. £10 gets you reserved seating with extra leg room and priority boarding. People will pay £5 for priority boarding but still have to fight for seats if lots have paid the fiver. for £5 extra get the extra leg room and no fighting for a seat with other priority boarders.

It was heaven last time we used them. And I suspect it will be fine again this time.

We fly back to England maybe 5 to 7 times a year. Mother in Law comes three times. She is registered disabled. We nearly always fly Ryanair. Cheapest and best flight times and rarely late. If you request assistance (you specify what assistance on the booking) then the paraphanelia travels free. We bring a small electric scooter (which she rides to and from the plane, a battery charger, front basket and a rear saddle bag PLUS a three wheeled walker and a walking stick.
It works very well at the Malaga end. It grieves me to say that at the Midlands end it is only barely acceptable. The person who turns up(eventually) to assist is offhand. When you get on the plane and it is late because he didn't turn up it is embarrassing. He is airport staff rather than Ryanair of course.

We had a bird strike at takeoff at Reus airport and the Ryanair plane's engines were shot. The flight was cancelled. They booked us on next days flight (free) but no other financial help. Some passengers were just evil to the staff. We had a nice night at a hotel and claimed about half the cost off our travel insurance. I suppose now Ryanair would pay for taxis to and from hotel and meals. As others say, the basic price will go up a percent to cover the costs.

I thought airlines were obliged to provide overnight accommodation in the event of a cancellation where an overnight stay is required and the cancellation was not previously notified? That's what I've had from sleazyjet and BA, anyway (more times than I care to remember).

I think he can put up his prices as much as he likes. I prefer to pay a little more and be treated (almost) like a human being.

Remember rynair is a flying bus service you are paying for a seat everything else is EXTRA.
 If you want luxurious flights then pay,you want cheap no frills then go rynair.
It gets you from point A to Point B in a fashion at a cheap price.

Im not a big fan of Lyinair,but ime Sleazyjet are worse.
