Dear Outlook.com customer is faecal waste and should be treated as such :-\

Would imagine so... Microsoft have your name, and would presumably use it in any email. If in doubt do what I do - open any suspicious mail on a work computer, rather than my own laptop.  :D

Reminds me, a friend's computer got infected recently and sent out the old scam e-mail " I'm stranded/injured/mugged in Cairo/Hanoi/HongKong please send cash..."  to everyone on his list. His sister - who works in IT - sent $3000!!!
Luckily they managed to get it back from the Western Union Office it had been sent to. :o :o :o

I am amazed people still fall for it. :-X :y

For future reference if you can send me the email header and HTML in text format I can analyse it against known signatures and check any embedded URLs for known phishing/malware sites.

If unknown I can run it and figure out if it is malicious or not :y

There is a spate of them going around currently.

As guffers says, a quick glance at headers will confirm authenticity
