Jumping Ship
« on: 28 February 2016, 22:24:22 »

After around 28 years of owning Vauxhalls I`ve decided to try something different an a bit newer.

Had a run down to Glouster today, a nice round trip that took a full tank of juice, the fuel light came on just a s I was pulling into the street  ;D

Anyway, the car in question is this little beauty

I`ve paid the guy a deposit and collect when he takes delivery of his new car, an arrangement that suits us both, counting the days now   8)

Cheers Andy, it`s just what I`ve been wanting  :)

I think the clubs would fit but the trolley would have to stay at home.....you could fit a caddy in the passenger seat though  ;)

Please Sir, what is it? It looks like one of those sexy sleek cars, like some Jags, which look great photographed alone, but look undesirably low when seen in traffic, with the driver unable to see where he is going or sit upright. I hope there is good users' forum for it.

It`s not that low although you can`t see the front of the bonnet from the drivers seat so I`ll just have to get the judgement right.

The Nissansportz forum is a good forum, it`s a committee members car that I`m buying, it`s quite quiet compared to OOF but lots of knowledge on there.

A proper sports car and a world away from the 'hairdressers special' that is the Mazda MX5.

That very same engine is currently tempting me in  large 'Datsun' saloon form. :y

Yup, very nice indeed!

White with blue exhausts wouldn't be my colour choice (farrr too lazy for  white car) but a stonking looking motor!

It`s a nice engine, pulls well too, it`s also found in the Murano too and don`t seem to be too troublesome.

I miss the way a V6 Omega would still pick its heels up at 'motorway speeds' and go. I'm not saying my Merc won't (though I've forgotten how it drives after 4+ weeks without it!  >:() but a turbo diseasal does it completely differently ..... plus it's out of breath at 120 ..... apparently  ::)

I still enjoy taking the Omegas out for their 'service runs' at 5 in the morning.there's hardly any one around and I'm back indoors at 5.45, and always give a thought to all those people just getting out of bed and getting ready to do battle in the morning rush hour.Omega, empty roads and retirement....life's good :y

No, as I don't get the 370z for another 6 weeks the Omega is staying for a while but due to the rusty arches and door bottoms I will be breaking it  :'(

Even though I love the Merc, I miss my 2.6 CDX  there is just something about them if only I had a double garage I would have kept it, just seem such good value for money if you get a good one.

Another one moved on from Omegas - hope you get as much enjoyment from your new motor as I've had/having from the two Jags I've had since my old Elite.  You'll soon realise that Omegas are now outdated, as one would expect from a 13 yo+ car. Reminds me of this every time I drive SWMBOs Estate.

They are out dated but still a good drive, I`m sure I`ll be enjoying the 370 though  ;)
