Omega On Dyno
« on: 07 March 2010, 19:19:13 »

Hello everyone

Took my Omega MV6 Estate to Dyno Demon in the Wirral yesterday and i must admit i was quite happy with the read outs
All she has had done is the air intake modified, butterfly mod, 4 bar fpr and a good service and she ran

225.3bhp not bad considering she was on normal unleaded aswell.

What could i do to increase this? porting and polishing/decats/LET flywheel?

Just out of interest  ;) what size wheels and tyres do you have on there and how much did it cost you in general?

Shes got 235/45/19's on her at the moment. I paid £200 for 4 tyres from a place in Ellesmere Port called TOP GEAR TYRES. Pirrelli P Zeros aswell!!! The alloys i swapped a set of 17's off of my missus Cavalier Turbo on the promise i buy her some VXR ones :D

They are really nice wheels, do they effect road noise, aquaplaning and most importantly fuel consumption by a great deal? i would expect them to have a significant impact on fuel consumption

Fuel consumption hasnt altered at all. Being a heavy car the wheels havent changed anything. The handleing is alot better on corners but now needs lowering to impact on this.
The only issue the car has with these is on country roads. Where the old roads have ruts where tyres have been running along for years the Miggy now pulls itself into these. Maybe its more noticeable due to the lower profile tyre

Hmmm thats very interesting about the fuel consumption, it must have changed a little bit but if its negliable then thats great, how much did your GF pay for the wheels then? im just interested because i like the 1998 elite wheels but i think in the future it would be really cool to run large shiny rims

She paid £200 for her wheels then swapped them for my 19's. I then had to buy 4 tyres for them as they were goosed.
Looks the part in my eyes, definately turned heads at the Dyno Day especially with the figures
