Self leveling
« on: 16 December 2010, 22:48:10 »

Does the saloon have self leveling or is it only the estate?  My old boys saloon(98 elite) sits helluva low at the back.  If not, is it possible/worth it to retrofit?

Cheers.

Ah...ok.  Must be faulty then, further investigation required.  Is it common for these to fail?

Cheers.

Shocks can leak, compressor can fail, air pipes can fracture, etc just a case of checking through methodically really.

Yes and they are specific springs only available from GM or KYB. Standard springs or Ebay specials aren't the same.

The shocks are but not the Springs. Recommend having alcohol before asking the dealer for the price of the springs!

They're a doddle to change, a few bolts, the diff drops and they can be lifted out.  :y  See Mark DTM's How To.

I have just put bilstien b4s on the back of my elite and it is a massive improvement on the self leveling.  I just found it too soft, plus mine were leaking

b4s are not self levelling, tbh I think the delf levelling is over-rated.. I prefer it without, you get more feedback  :y
