Afternoon all
« on: 04 February 2008, 15:52:05 »

First of all I ought to say hello - Hello everyone.

Strictly speaking, I am not an "owner" of an Omega but I will be in the very near future anyway. Deposit being paid to the garage in about 30 minutes time  :) It's a dark Green V reg 2.5 GLS, with a FSH and only 69K on the clock.

If I may be so bold as to ask a few quick questions of your considerable intellects though:

1) How often should it be serviced
2) How painful is the first trip to the petrol station going to be? (Currently drive an Astra which takes £40ish to fill)
3) I hear tell of common rust spots, do you know of anything I can do to help keep it rust free?
4) Is £1,295 a reasonable amount to pay for a V reg 2.5 GLS, with FSH, 69K on the clock, cambelt changed Feb 07 (5K ago) and new discs and pads all round?

That'll do for now, thanking yo ukindly in advance  :D

Hi Davey, congrats on your new purchase and welcome to the forum :)

It's worth checking out the FAQ and Omega Technical Info sections where you'll find a host of information. Anything you can't find just post up in General Help or General Chat sections. :y

Welcome to the forum. :)

If they could change the GLS to a CDX then you'd be far happier, but it still sounds like a nice car just not got the toys.

Howdoo and welcome to OOF.  Best place for Omega info on the web.

As said, maintenance is the key to keeping these cars good.  Check the relevant sections here for info.

Also, pull up a keyboard and feel free to join in the gags and banter in genchat and elsewhere, when the chance arises.  Most don't bite.......   :y
