Any recommendations for free or very cheap photo editing software?.

I currently have Kodak easyshare on my second hard drive but find it is a pain.

I just want something to crop, raise or lower brightness before attaching toEmail or getting printouts. Needs to be easy to use!

if you've got Microsoft Office, the M/S Office Picture Manger does a fine job at just crop / resize and basic adjustments, i use it to re-size photos in bulk when in crappy windows...

Agood free one is irfanview

I use it quite a bit, and a free download.   http://www.irfanview.com/

I was going to suggest GIMP until you said easy to use. 

Not much it won't do once you get the hang of it though.

Irfanview is probably a better choice for just basic cropping and exposure adjustment though.

Mrs Varche has just spent hours editing 32 photos using Kodak easyshare.

The PC runs XP with open office.

Irfanview sounds the ticket

its free and does the job
