Boots
« on: 19 February 2024, 20:31:48 »

The Boots in our little town has closed down. It has been there forever. My Mum started there as her first job when she left school in the late 1950's, and I have heard that the Boots shops in two nearby towns have closed down as well.  :-\

Meanwhile, the Lloyds Pharmacy has been taken over by an outfit called J Hoots (No me neither...  ::)) and it looks like a complete and utter unprofessional shitshow, with empty shelves and shoddy temporary signage. At least they kept on the staff from Lloyds and so far when I order my prescription, it's there when I go in to pick it up.  ::)

More decline...  :-X

Yep, same here, the Boots next to the GP Surgery in our town is closing down next month.  >:(  It’s well placed for people who’ve been to see the doctor as they can pick up their prescription from the Boots premises next door.

Hmm, just read that Boots will be closing 300 stores.  :o

They've been losing money in the smaller stores, and they are not a charity. American owned IIRC

Yep, appreciate that.  :y  The High Streets are dying on their arses and inadvertently we are all to blame with online shopping being so easy.

Incidentally, our High Street is full of coffee shops and Estate Agents.  :)

All the little seaside towns I went to at the weekend had either just closed their Boots stores, or were doing so in the next couple of weeks.

I suspect it will just mean Mrs TB has to queue for even longer at the pharmacy at our local medical centre...   ...now there is a prime example to all how not to run anything, useless, incompetent jobs worth r-soles.  Usually takes about 30mins to pick up a prescription, and they invariably get it wrong, then insist on a note from the doctor to rectify their blunders.

But its understandable, seeing as the kiddiewinks now can't lift their backsides from the gaming chair.  The strange people opposite get their first takeaway delivered about now, then another around mid afternoon, and then another late evening, before they go to work for their night shift.  I'm hoping their baby gets more than Dominos....

I'm guessing they are the only place open that will deliver around these parts.  But they'll have it for lunch and tea as well.  Jeez, if I ate that much pizza, I wouldn't shit for a month!
