Magic grey with 17'' elite wheels
« on: 14 February 2009, 18:55:49 »

Here she is, all polished up and released from storage with the faclift wheels fitted, quite chuffed at the way she looks   :)

Looks very nice Steve.  :y

Is the back box brand new? Looks it?  :y

Liking the colour, but then again, I would say that wouldn't I  ;D

You fancy giving mine a wash? It’s in a state at the moment, not seen a sponge this year yet.

The exhaust was brand new 3 years ago, but since the car has only done 5 miles since then the box is still as new.  :y

next job is to get a set of colour coded sill covers and to colour code the bottom of the bumpers.

Waiting on 2k paint to arrive so going to have to make the most of it as its expensive and v hard to get.

5 Miles in 3 years? How Come? Shocked

Full strip down and rebuild, replacing almost every part with brand new gen vauxhall stuff. essentially will end up being as close to a "brand new" prefacelift.

one of those things that will never end and never be sold.  ;)

Keep an eye on ebay and this forum, should pop up sooner or later, TBH this wasnt the look I originally wanted, But after carefull consideration I decided aftermarket wheels were not for me.

Original is best!

powerflow exhaust? and whats with the grille, is the middle bit removed or is the light playing tricks with the camera?!

nice look. im not sure about facelift wheels on the pre/minifacelifts; the wheels match the facelifts contours but the pre/mini is so subtle in comparison. that said, i just picked up a new/refurbed/repainted set wihch i am thinking of putting on my mk3 cav so what do i know!  ;D  original minifacelift elite alloys would look superb on your car i reckon. got a set sitting here too if youre interested hehehe!

Stainless system from cats to backbox made by a company in SLady bitshorpe, and genuine Irmscher backbox.

Not going down the bodykit route as I Like the original lines of the car.

The facelift wheels look far better in the flesh, I cant be wrong as so many other people have gone or want to go the same route.

Grille is a genuine irmcher with the centre removed, and diamond cut black mesh behind. I still have a proper unmodified minifacelift elite grille to go back to should this look wear off  ;D

Yes they made them for the 4pot and V6, very nice purr when idling and nice v8 type rumble when driving, dont know about BHP as Ive only covered 5 miles of various trips round my house in the 3 years its been on the car.

Lovely car and like the grille without the 'V' :y

Think the wheels suit (especially with the 'V-less' grille)!

Nice car, really nice car  :)

Bit of an update.

Had the car in at the local vaux place, got the suspension and tracking all setup after fitting all new parts.

This is the first time the car has been taken out in public just over 4 years.

Even tho I hadnt changed any of the steering components they found that my n/s wheel was towing out by about 10mm, which explained why my steering wheel was slightly off centre.

All sorted now, and upon their suggestion I put it in for an mot at one of the strictest garages up here, that way id know for sure if anything needed doing.

Well after a nail biting 2hr wait, I got my Mot with no advisories and a very impressed mot man, He says its the cleanest vauxhall he has seen for a long long time.

Im so chuffed.

Heres the pics after I brought her back home.

 ;)

Hi

magic grey was discontinued in the minifacelift models, so yours being a facelift will be a different colour of grey,

The closest colour of facelift Ive seen is a lighter colour almost blue
