Omega General Help / Re: anti freeze

Drain out what's in there, flush out, re-fill with new anti-frezzee, of your choice, using distilled water to mix to 50%>.

So buy a 10L drum of distilled water, give 5L to wife for the iron, tip 5L anti-frezzee into your 10L drum, sorted.

That's what i'd do  :y :y

if your not sure what anti freeze is in ,be very careful
you can't mix pink with blue antifreeze
That's not true. Yellow - the original long life - cant be mixed. Red usually can, but read the instructions.
I did not say anything about "yellow" , or purple or green or rusty brown water
you should not go by colour as a definitive method of what anti freeze type it is
but mixing oat (pink /red usually) with blue (silicate ) has heen well documented to form gel /cause problems

Info wrong...

Not the same engine in later, ie 2005 on Vauxhalls... That is a very different chain driven beast...

I stand corrected  :-[

i'm going to get bits off a 2.2 2002 facelift  sport tomorrow, i could inquire about the cost   ?

sounds like it lasted 20 years without catching fire so far  ;)
I've fixed many appliances in my time ,to many to remember  ::)
if you want a basic dryer that is reliable, cheap, cheap parts ,easy to fix
get  a simple white knight vented one

7836
 explains your lean condition  :D
same 2.2 engine in some .....
vauxhall & Opel Astra G; Astra H; Signum;  Vectra B; Vectra C; Zafira (A); Zafira B
careful you don't order the 2.2 diesel manifold if buying off the net or traveling to collect
assuming the manifold is the same for front and rear wheel drive  :-\

Plus you have essential equipment missing from the photos James  :o

no green little magic tree air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror

how did it passed an mot without one ?
.

And your post count was?,,

less than 20 back then  ;)

keeps going up though  :)

I offer my sincere apologies to James if he is offended by comment  :-[

I could send him a pound shop air freshener by way of apology

(can't afford a genuine magic tree freshener ,due to me recently purchasing a   ̶m̶o̶n̶e̶y̶p̶i̶t̶  omega)

aside from the missfire / fouled plugs etc.....which needs sorting
worth checking that you have not disturbed a tight seal on the zorst manifold to head (while working on the cat)
a blowing zorst manifold gasket will also suck un-metered air via the egr port

If the RCD is tripping , then either +Live or -neutral is "leaking" to put it in simple terms
could be many things
damp (common in a dryer by nature) causing a short to earth
heather element gone,shorting out
motor damp/carbon brush debris
damage to any of the insulation of internal wiring loom

with the machine un-plugged you could have a look inside for damage. loose wire, damp
(damp you can dry with a hair dryer)

I agree . what do people expect for less than a grand
an 18 year old car by nature has been outside and used and has aged
the fact you did the cam belt kit ,zorst and moted it is a massive plus to a buyer
vauxhall cars over fuel on start up and need a good drive to get water out the zorst
(i note the last astra G estate back box i purchase had a tiny machined hole in the bottom, with a label saying it was to allow
 water to drain )
the dull wing may have seen fresh paint, or simply had some polish or chemical disagreement in the past
had the seller t cut it and polish it ,it would probably not be noticeable, or buy a wing ,cheap enough, bolt on.
maybe he'll buy a brand new car and be happy  :P

BIG problem now is that ebay don't allow you to pass on contact info until after an item is sold  >:(
who in their right mind is going to buy a car sight unseen without hearing the engine, test drive etc  :-\
ebay have made this rule because many where selling outside of ebay and they where not getting their big fat selling fee  :'(

7842
Is it because it is in sync and quite happy  :-\
you could remove the battery from your spare handset (thus un-sync-ing it ) then try the re-sync
OR
be happy you have 2 working handsets ,go eat hot cross buns  ;D

z16se is 8 valve multi point injection , electronic throttle 85 hp
x16szr is 8 valve single point injection ,cable throttle 75 hp , many cheap code readers (elm327 etc) don't work on x16szr

Sounds like you have an issue there then, as the Omega lights, whilst far from the best, are perfectly OK when in good working order.

Apart from to test they work, or to return the favour to the usual plebs around these parts who think its cool and wicked to drive everywhere with fogs on, I don't think I've ever used them on mine.

All comments i made about the lights are in jest  :)
I know the later GM model headlights are plastic, need polishing to remove oxidization
We have 4 astra G's and 2 Corsa c's all in the family fleet ,all of which I'm appointed fixer  ;)

I'm not using the mega yet ,till i've gone over it all ,fixed everything  :y
still driving my carlton , which has real glass on the headlamps  8)
though the candles do blow out if you drive too fast  ;D
