You don't need to 'clone' an ECU, or even replace it.
You do need to accurately diagnose what is wrong with your car, and fix that problem. It won't be the ECU. If you can't do that, find someone who can. Your OBD reader will give the ECU's reason for putting the EML on, which is the place to start.


Taking a twenty year old car to a main dealer is a terrible idea, no matter what franchise the dealer is or the fault. They simply aren't setup to spend any time diagnosing or fixing faults that can't be done by looking up the book time and giving the technician half that to change the part. £600 spent properly should have fixed all of the issues you mention; for instance a complete new remote, immobiliser chip and key blade is achievable while you wait for - it's been a while - maybe £120 without the security code if you don't go to a dealer!

None of the above is specific to Omegas....
