Just checked myself, 800-1000 for parts  :o :y

Which is more worrying as it suggests that the company you have identified are only doing a quick half job fix

A mate of mine with an RX7 engined seven used to speak highly of WGT, have you tried them?

Then again, what needs doing? Tip seals, presumably, plus oil seals and gaskets. Any machining and so on? Might be a nice DIY project to take on if there's no time pressure?

Timing belt on Mrs GK's Lupo. Not too bad, apart from finding bolts missing or rounded on the belt cover. Grrrr.

(We'll ignore me also trapping my hand between the engine and the inner wing since I managed to extricate myself after practicing my Anglo Saxon...)

I had a chat with them today - the side & corner seals alone are £300ish and the rock bottom prices don't include those; his words were along the lines of "We tell people they really should but they're expensive and 50% of the time they're in good enough condition to re-use.  We will flat out tell people if they're shot but otherwise we give them the option.  I wish everyone would just replace them, to be honest, and if you do the warranty is extended to two years"

So I suppose if you say the parts cost them £500 without seals and the price is £800 if you drop the engine off, £300 labour to strip and rebuild is cheap but not ridiculously so. That goes up to a minimum of £1250 if you drop the whole car off, £750 to drop the engine, rebuild it and refit..

Fixed a demaged knock cable that was a bit awkward but after some annoying moment I managed to do it. No codes, smooth accelerating, it's fine !  :y

Gave 3.2 a damn good clean and hover out for it's 350 miles long weekend in Wales, first proper family outing. Did really well. Fresh approach to packing, putting rear seats down and packing stuff in there too in the gaps made really helped.

Managed to get everything we needed in the boot, concerned we needed more space but all good.

Air-con super cold, loving the effortless drive.

Only down side is even on a run the 3.2's really are rubbish on fuel  ;D

Removed the engine, gearbox, rear axle and prop shaft from the MV6. Sits a tad higher than normal ;D ;D :o. I think another day on this one should have all the parts off and then it's away with it.  :-[
