Looked at various makes and models over the months as a company car, looked at MG and thought nothing special in the looks and practical offerings.

Need an estate or an SUV and am still looking.

But was out and about to day and saw one of these only had chance to follow it but must admit we both were impressed with what we saw.

Not practical for me for work and health reasons,

So it's been on the news today that King Charles will be scrapping the Royal Train with in a couple of years.

£80k for the 2 trips made the last financial year and £400K in storage costs P.A. so yes I agree it certainly makes sense.

Google - The royal train will be taken around the UK before it is removed from service, after which it could be put on public display

But why not consider turning it into a new service equivalent to maybe the orient express.

I rang my bank yesterday to ask a question. They gave me a good understanding of what I asked.

Today they sent me a survey asking how was the experience.

But they never send a questionnaire or survey when you try to with withdraw money after the amount of questions they asking what the reason is wanting t with draw it. Or even paying in money.

Seen so many reports and videos of how bad the banks have become.

No wonder people are drawing their cash out to stop the banks controlling because of the governments around the world are trying to control finance.

Talks of digital currency, years ago after a baby was taken from a hospital they added security to maternity wards but there was even mentions of having chip implants to stop it happening on the future, the truth maybe was they were planning to other options in motion. (tracking and fiances being just 2 of them)

There is 50 note limit allowing payment of £1000 using the ATM style machine but go to the counter trying to pay in more is crazy.

Just been planning a journey from Kings Cross to Retford/Doncaster

if traveled at 7pm train fare is quoted £127 (and maybe crowded)

Journey north it seems no stop at Retford, so extra cost for 2nd train journey from Doncaster to Retford.
if traveled at 8pm train fare quoted is £31.08

Also its a 15 interval service changing to every to every 30 minutes in the evening, bet service than our our buses into local towns.

Any recommendations to the best flight prices whether its a travel company, Flight app or even a comparison site.

I haven't flown for years so totally out of touch.

After looking into business car insurance and looking at all things related, it would be as shame to start racking up up high mileage on the Omega Its only 58k on it and is hardly used, so to suddenly add 400/800 a week on it is a shame and at 22/34MPG is* rather expensive to run.

Googled the most Economical PHEV to see what came and was surprised to see the MG HS with a quoted     564.96 mpg 299BHP and 6.8 0 to 60 was there as an option with a Toyota Yaris.

Not as ugly as the early modern MG cars.
 
But might at least go have a test drive.

With the high mileage I would prefer something more spacious like the old Senator or the Scorpio 2.9

Would happily go for comfort over MPG, but even returning half that MPG  is over 10x the Omega

Any thoughts for a comfy economical suggestion welcome (Prefer and estate)

Running through some ideas and considering different options.  Maybe looking for Trade Insurance in the future so thought it worth pricing up in advance. 

Not sure if any members have trade cover but wondering if any companies outshine other or if they all just as bad as domestic policies with all the small print etc.

Will be for 2 people any car etc, but a least 1 named vehicle.

Off to see if there are any comparison sites.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Fan Control

Not used the car since Aug when I tested it.

Couple of issues radio in safe mode,  I forgot how to reset, just looked it up I forgot the bit of powering the radio holding the AS button.
 
The odd one was the fan stopped working.  I have had odd random issues starting from a dead battery in the past , like dead dash dials, then active and dead again,  Really odd but when charged and car restarted no more issues.

This fan problem,  I can hear all the vents open and close depending choice.  But the fan speed lights work, but no fan active.
 
I know things like sunroof and windows can be reset with a procedure, but before investigating it deeper, is there a reset procedure for the fan controller. looked through the maintenance guides maybe I missed a guide.

Any advice or is it a failed fan motor?

In the news again - Monthly Collections being considered in Bristol and now Dundee.

Mine are :-
week 1 Pink    - Food & Non Recyclable
week 2 Black    - Tins & Glass
week 3 Pink    - as above
week 4 Green    - Cardboard & Paper 

Works well for me.

News doesn't mention which bin it is, so assuming it's the Food/Non Recyclable.

Going monthly in summer may create vermin issues.  But there are 2 options not mentioned. 

1st is to apply for a 2nd bin.
2nd is to supply larger capacity bins. 

Either way the bin lorries will have to be modified or replaced as they will be required to cope with double the amount of waste if the rounds are halved. Unless the rounds are split into 2 groups/teams to serve the regions areas.

Helped a friend out earlier with a small cash transfer to them  to help solve a problem.

Money will return to me soon no issues there.

But with one thing a another we used PayPal.  Fee was £2.99

I sent £100 they revived $118+

When I checked the exchange rate £100 = $124.96 so PayPal skimmed a % as well as a charge.

So with this in mind and knowing the wealth of knowledge on here I ask for advice.

Banks versus Apps etc

Banks wont do anything for nothing.
Comparison sites say no fees

I have never heard of any of these and therefore wont trust what I dont know

I may never transfer cash abroad ever again and this is my 1st one ever.

Any advice is much appreciated.T.I.A.

I know a lot of members have family and friends abroad etc.

I used to use Skype a lot with out issues, used several programs since.

To night I have been chatting with a friend in the US and it keeps crapping out.  Tried FB messenger, tried Google chat (New one on me)  they both set off crystal clear then after a while sounds like submarine sonar kicks in and kills the call.

Any recomendations T.I.A.

General Car Chat / Another Year - Another MOT (PASS)

Only done 92 miles since last years MOT.  Went through no issues.  Brakes impressed me as they have hardly been used, nice balance each side.  The hand brake never gets used as it's an auto.  Operated it a couple of times before the test, when tested the wheels locked and the car came off the rollers.  So very happy. :'(

But there's a down side.  On the way into town the brake light warning came on whilst going over several pot holes.  so had a bite to eat and went on to the local car parts shop where they fit (some of) the parts bought.

Whilst in the boot he found the wheel well for the spare full of water, he made a hole in the bung and drained it out.  but needs looking into.

Also when I turned off the engine to sort the bulb, the check oil level warning came on.  So topped it up 0.5 litre.  Not bad for 12 years use.

2012 45.076 miles
2024 58,276 today.

So 13.2k miles only 0.5 litre oil consumed. Cant complain.
