Title: omega won’t start after change ecu

Hello
I had to change ECU in my Omega B and after that car won’t start. I changed immobilizer too which I bought with ECU. Moreover ‘’check engine’’ light doesn’t light, fuel pump doesn’t pump petrol into engine... After I connect "My Naff Code Reader", I can’t diagnostic engine but I can only immobiliser.

Opel Omega 2.0 16v X20XEV 1995 ECU Simtec 56 02

Fault codes:
15 Vehicle Speed Signal Voltage Low
17 No Engine Request Received

Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks for answers.

did you change the immobilizer and fob to match the new replacement ecu as if you dont change them all the codes that are on the ecu dont match up so will not work, if you have the pass code for the ecu  (95 you wont be able to get the code as to old from vauxhall) 

list.
ecu
immobilizer
central locking control unit
fob
and some have key chip reader for ignition barrel.

these need to be all matched up.

you can send the ecu off to some places that can get the code from ecu but ive not tried them myself.

Using that device to play with immobiliser codes is akin to certain doom... :-\

I changed ECU because spark plugs didn’t give spark, they haven’t got absolutely any spark. I changed ignition coil, camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor because I hoped it would help but it didn’t. Spark plugs and ignition cables are ok and cables from ECU is ok too, I checked it.

You have checked?

And it's from a Vectra... ::) which I suspect is why you have a problem.

check the wires from ecu to coil pack here is a full list of connections for the ecu.

Interface - Signal Locations 2,0 litre – Astra-F and Omega-B 1994-1996
 
Number 1 location on plug is right bottom with 1 to 19 pins
pin 20 middle from 20, to 37.
Pin 38 is left side 38, to 55.
wires come into plug from 55, 37, and 19.

1. Signal from knock sensor
2. Ground to crankshaft sensor/camshaft sensor
3. Oscillation signal to the crankshaft sensor
4. Oscillation signal to the camshaft sensor
5. Signal from coolant temperature sensor
6. Signal from air temperature sensor
7. Power supply to lambda sensor
8. Ground to air mass meter
9. Ground from chassis
10. Gearbox engagement signal*
11. Load signal from automatic gear*
12. Signal from air conditioning compressor*
13. Diagnosis
14. Fuel consumption signal to board computer
15. Control signal to fuel pump relay
16. Control signal to main relay
17. Control signal to tank ventilation valve
18. Constant power supply from battery
19. Ground from chassis
20. Signal from knock sensor
21. Signal from crankshaft sensor
22. Signal from camshaft sensor
23. Not connected
24. Ground from chassis
25. Signal from lambda sensor
26. Signal from throttle potentiometer
27. Signal from air mass meter

36. Control signal to lambda sensor pre-heater
37. Power supply from ain relay
38. Control signal to ignition amplifier, cylinder 2 & 3

40. Control signal to ignition amplifier, cylinder 1 & 4
41. Ground from chassis
42. Control signal to EGR-valve
43. Not connected
44. Control signal to secondary air injection
45. Not connected
46. Power supply from main relay
47. Power from ignition switch (Terminal 15)
48. Control signal to injection valve, cylinder 4
49. Control signal to injection valve, cylinder 2
50. Control signal to injection valve, cylinder 1
51. Control signal to injection valve, cylinder 3
52. Control signal to idle speed correction valve
53. Control signal to the air conditioning compressor relay*
54. Not connected 55. Diagnosis
You will need a meter to check for continuity. but if wiring ok if you know how to solder can tell you the chip you need to replace, can remove from the vectra one you have, and then there is no problems as its the original ecu for the vehicle.

Yep

Better of putting it back the way it was with the old ECU and then diagnose the problem.

ECU rarely fail, especially the older pre ODB2 (2001) type.

I'm with Zirk on this, Omega pre DBW ECMs are near bulletproof.

No spark & no fuel pump would normally point to a failed crank sensor or an immobiliser problem - but seeing as the original ECU and immobiliser have already been swapped out it could be just about anything.....
