Hi all, I've read some where in the forum reference to the auto box ecu being flashable.
I wonder if some one can cast more light on this subject and also the advantages.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / WARNING DISPLAY-BEEPS
« on: 14 October 2006, 11:24:06 »
Hi guys, I hope I'm asking this in the right place.
A few days ago whilst driving I had a low coolant level warning come up on the display
and because it was a very bright sunny day I didn't notice it streight away and by the time I did notice it I had lost a lot of water. I was telling a mate about this, who also runs an Omega and he said that on his car when a warning comes up on his display he also gets an audible warning to atract his attension. My Omega is a 95 v6 and my mates is a facelift model. My question is, should mine give out an audible warning or is it only on the later models
Thanks....Bill :(

After reading all the post on this subject has got me wondering.
My indicators dont flash when I lock or unlock my car. (95 2.5 V6) but my car is also fitted with a after market Meta M36T imobiliser. I wonder if this is the reason for my indicators not flashing.
This is how I bought the car so I hadn't given it any thought before.
You lot have got a lot to answer for. LOL ;D ;D ;D

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Adding headlamp washers
« on: 04 October 2006, 14:56:44 »
Before fitting HID's check out the price of replacement bulbs. I was going to go down the HID road because the head lights on my 95 2.5 were crap but because of the price of new bulbs I manageg to pick up nearly new headlight unit and used 30% brighter H1 bulbs, not the blue ones and now I'm more than happy with my night driving.
I think you'd be disapointed with the blue bulbs, I was.

I've just been reading all the info on retro fitting a high level brake light and a thing no one has mentioned is, if your car is fitted with an electric rear blind would the operation of the blind be effected by the high level brake light? :( :( :(

Omega General Help / Power steering pump replacement
« on: 19 February 2008, 01:16:29 »
Hi chaps, I have a squeek on my power steering pump pully so it looks like I'm going to have to change the pump. The engine is a v6 and I'm wondering if any one has had to change a pump and is there any problems I might come across.

Thanks   Bill :-[ :-[

Omega General Help / leaking sunroof
« on: 31 August 2007, 12:23:49 »
Can some one help please,
My sun roof has started leaking, right above my driving seat. It looks as if the rubber seal around the glass has gone hard and not sealing right.
Dose any one have any suggestions and is there a product on the market
that will rejuvinate the rubber seal.
Vauxhall have quoted £220 for a new sunroof glass.

Thanks  Bill

Omega General Help / Re: Pollen filter drain blocked
« on: 06 December 2006, 12:06:56 »
A word of warning for any one thinking of having a poke round with some thing hard and sharp like a long screw driver. Down at the bottom usually under the water, there lives a length of wiring loom. So as your dad use to tell you be careful were you poke. By the way the drain rubber is right angled, it goes down then forward.
Cheers.........Bill :y

Omega General Help / Re: All Steamed up!!!
« on: 17 November 2006, 01:36:48 »
Hi guys.
Ref steaming up, I suggest you all have a look in the bottom of the of the housing where the pollen filter lives. Make sure that the drain rubber is clear and you don't have a pool of water sat in the bottom. I was having the problem of misting up and I found I had about 4ins of water in the bottom of this housing, after unclogging the drain rubber and getting rid of the water my misting up problem has gone away.
A word of warning, if there is water in this housing and you're going to poke around with some thing like a long screw driver be aware there is a piece of wiring loom that may be under the water.
I hope this is of some help to some body
cheers  Bill

After reading the info about windows misting up and having the same problem I checked mine this afternoon and found that although there was no crud to mention there was about 4inch of water. I managed to get an air line down to the drain hole and blew it out. Water all gone now so hopefuly no fogged up windows. A point to watch out for if you try to dig out the drain hole with some thing like a long screw driver is to be careful not to damage the wireing loom that runs down close to the drain hole :y
