I've got a new full set of new Uniroyal Rainsport 3 and they are fantastic.  A full 4 Wheel Geometry set up help by someone who knows their onions, or toe on, toe out, caster, camber and thrust angle  :y. Nigel langs Bolton it highly respected and recommended.

Hi mate- did you go for the normal load or the XL version on the car?

3
Oh- should I get 'XL' or will standard ones do?

Cheers mate- had been looking at them as first choice - read some reviews from rwd owners who weren't that impressed but would rather take advice from an owner who has them on!! Im up in the wilderness in Fife so need to find a good garage to get the geo set up  :y
Might be worth having a word with your local Admin, Hotel21, to see if he knows of anywhere trustworthy to set up the geometry :y

Thanks mate - will do  :y

so...........decided not to sell the old girl - just cant part with her.......

but..........been driving with Autogrips which grip about as well in the wet as a metal tray on ice  >:(

Got caught out simply by the camber of a roundabout the other day in wet weather (and I am careful) which made the end swing out narrowly missing a lamp-post so I need to get these death traps off the car asap ..... :'(

Ive typed tyres in the search but its all old posts - only gonna do the rears for now as I don't want to die any time soon

Researched tyres such as Uniroyal Rainsport 3 and Good year then checked reviews online and quite a lot of negative views on them despite 'A' ratings. im 46 and know when to drive enthusiastically and not - but even when no acceleration is applied, the weight of the barge is enough to send the bum out!

need some recommendations folks - wet grip a priority - only a 2.2 auto so not mad power going down. Failing that, some 2 x 2 slabs in the boot! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hotel 21 is up the road from you ...... somewhere in Fife ..... he has a Tech II

Cheers mate - :y
if it happens again ill drop him a pm.
Im at the stage now where I don't know whether to sell her or not - !!!! ???

Problem solved- rear lambda sensor :(
Code cleared - not come back on ............yet!
Nowe- to get those ice-skate grip Autogrips off the back wheels .........10 mph round a corner aint my thing  :o :o

If its the engine block looking light (Emissions Warning Light) there might not be a permanent code (resets with ign off). Spanner through car light (Service or Maintenance light) is normally when there is a code.  EML normally goes out after a while, 3 starts without the problem I think.

If your "D900 thingy" resets codes this should make the light go out. If it comes back on first thing to do is stop using supermarket fuel. Need codes if that don't cure it

Hi mate- yeah its the engine block looking light.....the light with the spanner hasnt come on..
Ive tried the brake pedal trick but that didnt work.

Disconnected battery last night for an hour to try and reset- EML stayed on when reconnected.
Tried the 3 starts and stops - stayed on.
Tried my code reader again this morning but it still couldnt communicate with the car so gonna have to order another one to see if it can read it.

Not sure if its connected but I added injector cleaner at the weekend to the tank but onced i get the code(s) ill soon know  :'(. Just typical when i was just about to sell her as well  :'(

How funny.....I was showing my cousin, a mechanic, my latest Omega on Sunday, and he lent on it and it squeaked. First thing he said was handbrake or rear brakes. Bounced it again and said the same...handbrake ;)

Thats exactly how mine sounds when you push down. As well as when u pull away. Gently applied handbrake at about 5 mph and sounded like a brick was in there so gonna get em changed  :y :y :y :y

then ill tackle the EML light thats just popped on  :'( :'( :'( :'(

I take it someone else had fitted the shocks for you :-\

Hi - yeah my father in law! hes a mechanic but didnt notice anything wrong!! As you can tell, my technical knowledge is limited !lol and to make matters worse- my EML has now come on and the reader i have cant pick up a signal!!

Gonna get my handbrake shoes and springs replaced and start there  :D :D :D (for the creak- not the EML LOLOL)

Won't work on 2.2  :y

Yes, you need a code reader, cheapos should be able to get the codes

cheers - the thing is im wondering why the D900 code reader I have wont read the codes then if it has obd/obd2 ability? do u mean its that type? sorry if I cound thick!!lol :-\

What shocks did you fit? Elite should only have self levelling ones...

Also, were the top mounts renewed? If so, with what?

soz meant to say, it was the rear shocks that were done - not the front struts..

14
Sigh.....................

Just about to sell the old girl when driving back from work tonight up pops the EML - no limp mode.

Gets home- disconnects the battery, reconnect, still there........................

Gets my OBD/OBD2 reader out (some D900 thingy), select GM, tries to connect but says connection cannot be made  :'(

Is it only a Tech 2 that can read the DTC's? My mig is 2001 2.2 CDX  - don't fancy getting stitched up at my local Vauxhall garage either!!

help!!

Hi- replaced them with Monroes - but.... I don't think the top mounts were replaced or would they come with the shocks? mine is a CDX 2.2
