I had a B reg Austin 1100, but it definitely wasn't 1984  ;D

B at the end of the reg was 1964.

B at the start of the plate was 1984.

I think. :)
Yep, 1964, when you were just a lad  :)

Not born for a couple of decades :P.......whereas you were probably middle aged in 1964. :)

You boyz with your rose tinted glasses ;D

That said, I always wanted a 24v Senator when they came out, but had to settle for an Astra GTE instead.

I valated one of the last 24v's every week and allways wantead one, I treat myself to  new Astra GTE 1/8/84 loved it at 1st, till all the faults started (2xA4 Pages) wiring loom caught fire as I started the car after filling with fuel, just turned the key, car was replaced with in a week for a Nissan.

I think that would be a 'B' registration same as my Kawasaki GPZ 750 Turbo...... :)

 😱😱😱😱 Dear God!  That’s a bloody handful of a bike 🦏🦏

They were all painted red and black from the factory, but mine had been resprayed blue at some point.

Back then frame and tyre technology was pretty basic so it didn't like the corners but went like shit off a shovel on full boost. >:D

By the standard of 2024 it would not be considered quick with only 112 BHP.....but because it wobbled, weaved  and bucked like a rodeo bull it felt quick.

Lot of talk/news/warnings about how sophisticated scams are becoming. I think most of us think that we'd never fall for them, and that's probably true of the more simple ones. But there are some new ones knocking around that are hard to spot, and there's a chance anyone might fall for them. Spear phishing, tap jacking, quishing, heard of any of these? Well read up, be aware.

This one is a bit of a read, but it's a doozy:

https://www.thecut.com/article/amazon-scam-call-ftc-arrest-warrants.html

Try reading the stuff after the scam story, how the psychology works.

If  a scam is sophisticated anyone can be duped.

However, if you are willing to give all your money to help a man from Nigeria then you shouldn't be allowed out alone. :)

FUN-erals are more fun than they used to be when I was a nipper.

The last one I went to the deceased (age 51) had chosen the song Mr Blue Sky by ELO to see him out.

The church was 'rockin'as we all sang along followed by a monumental piss up. ;D

Went out for a pint with my Lefty mate tonight and he was crowing about the Byelections.  ::)

Until I pointed out that as shite as the Tories are, Labour only just increased their vote in one election by 100 votes and actually lost 5000 votes in the other. He quietened down!  ;D

Then he pointed out that "that far right lot took votes off the Tories as well!"  ::)

Later the conversation turned to climate change and he thinks it's great that farmers are covering the countryside with solar panels... Dear god.  :(

Just about everyone is 'far right' these days. ::)

If you are concerned about immigration and believe there are just men and women then you are a 'far right' bigot.

Thirteen percent is an excellent start for the reform party maybe now some more people will give them their vote rather than worrying it will interfere with the big three.

Yep.

Flying to Barbados, visiting Curacao Bonaire St.Vincent Grenada St.Lucia St.Kitts Antigua St.Maarten then back to Barbados.

I'm jealous. That sounds good but must cost a pretty penny. :y

Remember to bring back a stick of rock for all of us. ;)

I won't vote for the Tory party.

The bulk of the party is made up of what is called 'one nation Tories' who are quite happy with unlimited immigration and over 100 genders.

Most could seamlessly slide  into the the group of woke misfits that Ed Davey is so proud of. :)

You can be as boring as you like Nick, but my post was specifically about Labours vote tally.  :)

Once again, conclusions can only be drawn from the whole results, not just the winning number.

So Wellingborough:

Labour's share of the vote was 45%, an increase of 20% since 2019
Conservative shore the vote was 25%, a decrease of 38%

But look closer, as there's an 18% discrepancy:

Reform got 13% of that and the Independent candidate another 4%( figures rounded to whole numbers). These could only be increases as they weren't in the 2019 election.

Those are dramatic trends, but by elections should never be used to extrapolate general election results

Which shows promise.

Although most of the media showed the the 'big 3' as Labour, Tory, then Lib Dems....who were bombed into irrelevance.
