Cracking job, glad it went well with no hitches :)

We all started somewhere, so an oil change and coolant change is an achievement :y

Nobody on this forum will laugh at you for having a go, and if something goes wrong, there is lots of help.  Plus Mrs Jimbob has a permenent communication channel with the DTM household :y

These websites actually exist! :o

1. A site called ‘Who Represents’ where you can find the name of the agent that represents a celebrity. Their domain name is:
http://www.whorepresents.com

2. Looking for a pen? Look no further than:
http://www.penisland.net

3. Experts Exchange’, a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at:
http://www.experts-exchange.com

the hyphen was missing from the bottom one!
The URL doesn't then have same ring to it ;)

Morning Mark,

Glade you got home safely.

Jet turned around on time, panasonic, well they were still trying to sort that problem out.

I apologise for the name tag, MARK, OOF, forgot the rest you see.

Look forward to meeting yourself and others soon.

The boy next. :-?

I suspect I know the fault......I was watching the system re-boot on one of the screens and noting the Linux (red hat) logs as it went. It was showing corruptions in Flash (I cant beleave they used something as un-reliable as flash for storage!) which is something I know a bit about so I suspect it needs a full re-build!
I confirm that Mark_DTM is an expert in solid state flash. Shame he couldn't fix mine though ;D

Welcome back M_DTM, not that you were ever away from our little corner of cyberspace, what with broadband in the room etc.

Sounds like an interesting trip to see the different culture.  Reminds me a little of my trip to Egypt a couple of years back, only more extreme...

Got your new c/card then mark, enjoy it to the full and charge it to the company. :y

No....had to pay for the hotel on my debit car....and its 210 quid a night!

Blimey, £210 per night in Bombay? Where are you staying, in the presidential suite?  :o :o

Its a club queen club room, all they had left....

Its got a queen size bed and Tv in the bedroom, marble bath, shower, lounge area with TV, 3 piece suite and desk plus a patio (I am on the 4 th floor and its still 5m x 5m!) and very starngely.......a telephone by the toilet....which they advertise as a sales feature...I know its India but thats just ridiculous!
LOL, after a bout of Gandhi's revenge, that phone will be useful....

Lucky bugger. Beats going to Bletchley like I have to....

Hope you enjoy it, if only for a change (as I suspect you'll be too busy to appreciate it properly) :y

Just listening to the TV in the background that Charlie Borman and Ewan McGregor are guests tonight, alongwith Michelle Fifer.  Could well be interesting......
Wouldn't know, I haven't got a telly until I get my backside down the shops to buy a new one  :'(
Not another issue with your fave home electronics company I hope.
No, it wasn't a Sony...   ...it was the best TV I've ever had, but had an annoying software issue.
Sammy been making housecalls then?
No, I rang the vendor (as warranty was running out), they think they have fixed the issue so arranged swapout monday. They never turned up, so I asked for a refund. They picked up the telly today.  Obviously, large LCDs have dropped in price in the last year, so I should be able to get something better for the same money...

The old TV was Dell, and as said, the best TV I've ever had (software glitch aside).
Result then, 12 months free tv hire.
Can't you plug a monitor into your MCE as a temp measure.
I brought down the TV from the bedroom as a stop gap, and was going to use freeview via MCE.  Its an LCD, about 3yrs old, and has a VGA input :y

Start to connect up. Bugger, no VGA on back of MCE, only DVI.  Went down pub instead.

I have some DVi to VGA adpators at work i could borrow....
Make it so. Shame the posties are on strike  :'(

General Discussion Area / Re: Anyone close to you a veggie?
« on: 07 October 2007, 11:30:33 »
I have no issues what people eat. I know a few veggies. I also have friends from different religions and beliefs which limits them.  I respect their views as they respect mine. I try to not eat in front of my Muslim friends during Ramadan (I've spelt that wrong - sorry) as that is unfair.

What does get my back up, there are 2 single Mum's I can think of who are veggies. Both have chosen to bring their kids up as veggies.  That I do not agree with.

I think I recall hearing that it expires at the end of this year?

May be thinking of something else...

Also, make sure they understand that you want 4x5 litres. They gave me a 20 litre drum in a box on a trolley and I didn't look what was in the box until I'd got it to the car ::) .. by which time the parts department were out to lunch >:(

Didn't cost much different, it's just much more convenient in 5l containers.

Kevin
It expires at the end of every year, but they keep extending :D
