General Car Chat / Re: A Question about Insurance.

Was thinking if the bill was not too high to keep it away from insurers, but after this discussion that would probably not be a good idea.

Is it best to wait until contacted by the third party with a quote for the repairs, or tell the insurance company now that there is most likely a claim on the way?

They also increased the odds when the cost of a ticket went up to £2, as before that you would have had two chances of winning for your money.

So less chance of winning a prize but 1 in 10 chance of a free go.

Which is how they can claim improved odds of winning.

Don't forget you can go online and get quotes including a revised accident/claim history. You can change all sorts of mileage, number of points on your licence, etc all you like, to 'play' with the final figure, to see what a claim will cost you.

That's a good idea. :y

Having had 35 claim free years, I am not sure, do you still pay the excess if the claim is for damage to only the third party's vehicle?

Hypothetically, if one should receive a renewal quotation for car insurance, accept it and authorise payment, and a few hours later have an incident resulting in a possible claim. Should one declare it, even though the new insurance has not yet commenced and would probably
result in a revised quotation if the possible claim was known about?

As above, Z155 Moonland.

Required due to an unfortunate incident with a BMW.  :-[

Omega General Help / Central Locking
« on: 03 October 2015, 10:43:18 »
Locking failed on front passenger door.

If down it won't go up and if up it won't go down.

I have a microswitch to repair it as per the guide, but I can't remember from when the driver's door failed if a duff switch stops the motor operating in both directions.

If not then it must be the motor.

Can anyone advise please.

Doing well here. No difference between the greenhouse grown and the spare plants growing outdoors. :)

One pack of seeds resulted in 80 plants.

Ripening at a rate we can eat them so far but preparing for the onslaught to come. :D

As the Omega is our only form of transport, I don't want to remove the old pipe without having the replacement to hand or knowing I have all the correct components to make my own. Hence trying to obtain the correct specification.

Being carless is not an option for SWMBO. :D
