there is no doubt that sky provide the best telly but some of us just cant aford it even though i would like to sorry tunnie

I'll have to get you one of my 50% discount codes  :D

Where Sky are doing very well is the bundles, you get broadband & phone, then for a small extra price you get standard TV pack.

Where it gets expensive is if you have Sports & Movies.

As staff I get the whole lot as a freebie, priced it up once on the retail site few years ago, came to over £100/month!  :o  ;D

But the broadband side is a bit pants, Mr T, so I'd still need a phone line to put a decent broadband over ;)

Only as bad as what Openreach provide, as others do, we provide fibre.

I had a 8Mbit line in my bedroom before I got my flat, quite happy with that I found it reliable. Although I'll admit the supplied routers are rubbish!

That, really, just determines sync rate.  If it was purely just that, all ISPs would be equal. Most congestion happens on the links between BT Wholesale's PoP and the ISP, or within the ISP itself. Or in the cases like Sky, that have a fair bit of LLU, on the backhauls.

I have no loyalty to my ISP, so if you can prove that Sky provide a better service, with the features I need...

I've had sky bb for two weeks now. Don't have to keep resetting the router, through loss of wifi, as I did with bt.

Best? Most compehensive, certain. But most of the stuff I record is on BBC 4 anyway. Hence, not best for me. But fully understand thats its best for some/many :)
Aye? Since when was "not best for you" a criteria for anything ?

Man Utd are the best premier league team currently, the fact you support Villa doesn't alter the points table. Like it or not ;D

Homehub 3? That really is a shocking piece of junk.  They must have planned it to be that bad, as they even put an easily accessible reset button on it.

Still, it doesn't stop BT calling me every few weeks, promising a faster broadband speed if I move, mainly due to their "superior" hub, as they have found a review where it won a magazine award (like a certain member's beloved tyre review sites, magazine IT review sites are equally worthless).

One has to learn to accept that others may have a different view. Even when they are clearly wrong.

Doubt that will happen TBH, as its a ploy to sucker people in. Like year 1 insurance quotes.
